Come speak to me
Easy like hands on skin
Come speak to me
Easy like sky on earth

We are going to do something
If you come and tell me just how you feel
'Cause we are gonna work it out
Even if your world's falling apart

Are you gonna do something?
Are you gonna trust me?
Are you gonna take care of what I've been given?
Are you?

Birds are crying for the two of us
Can't sleep 'cause the moon
Reminds me of your face and now
I can see sunsets on my homeland
Through your words still alive

Come speak to me
Easy like hands on skin
Do you know why I left?
It's 'cause I was digging into my past

Are you gonna do something?
Are you listening to me?
Are you gonna take care of what I've been givin'?
Are you, are you?

Birds are crying for the two of us
Can't sleep 'cause the moon
Reminds me of your face and now
I can see sunsets on my homeland
'Cause your words are alive
For the both of us
I can't sleep 'cause the moon
Reminds me of your face
Now I can see
sunset on my homeland
Through your words still alive

The sun keeps telling me stories
(Are you listening to me, are you?)
The moon keeps telling me stories
(Are you gonna take care of what I've been givin'?)

Birds are crying for the two of us
I can't sleep 'cause the moon
Reminds me of your face
Now I can see
Sunset on my homeland
'Cause your words are alive
For the both of us
I can't sleep 'cause the moon
Reminds me of your face
Now I can see
Sunset on my homeland
'Cause your words are alive

Come speak to me
Come speak to me
Come speak to me
Come speak to me
Come speak to me
Come speak to me
Now come speak to me
Come speak to me, yeah, yeah

I definitively agree with amusiqa, the italian version is much better... as a matter of fact, the english version ruined this song for me. It's like watching an italian movie badly dubbed in english or vice versa... This year she sang 'Luce' at the closing of the winter Olympics in Turin... oh gosh, she was totally awesome! Gave me goosebumps throughout her performance.

    Way to go Elisa!

I think I heard this song a 1000 times today, and it's so beautiful , it makes me cry 'cause it makes me think how fucked up my relation is at the moment :(

I can definately sympathise with that angel. I was seeing this gorl for a while and last night I made the mistake of telling her I was falling in love with her - she told me that she didn't feel the same and we are now not together. The bit of this song that reminds me of me and Vicky are the lines...

'We are going to do something if you come and tell me just how you feel 'cause we are gonna work it out even if your world's falling apart are you gonna do something? Are you gonna trust me? '

Jeez love sucks - plain and simple:(

The English version is what I heard first, but I'm listening to the Italian version now and agree it is much more beautiful, regardless of the fact I can't understand a word of it. ;)

Well, I'm Italian and I'm studying English at school... As a rule this is the translation (it' s not perfect...).

    Light (sunsets in north- west)

Talk with me like the wind among trees Talk with me like the sky with its earth I haven't defences, but I chose to be free Now it's reality the only thing to take into account Tell me if you'll do something if you are earing to me Will you care for everything I gave to you? Tell me

We are in the same tear, like a sun and a star We are light that falls from eyes, over the sunsets of my land over new days

Listen to me Now I know how to cry I know I ned you I have never know hot to pretend I feel you near me The breath doesn't lie In so much pain Nothing wrong Nothing, nothing...

We are in the same tear, like a sun and a star We are light that falls from eyes, over the sunsets of my land over new days in a tear like a sun and a star We are light that falls from eyes, over the sunsets of my land over new days

The sun talks to me about you... (are you listening to me, now?) Now the moon talks to me about you... ( I'll care everything you gave to me..)

Even if inside a tear, like a sun and a star We are light that falls from eyes, over the sunsets of my land over new days in a tear like a sun and a star We are light that falls from eyes, over the sunsets of my land over new days

Listen to me (x 5) Listen to you

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
