Hey baby, I'm talking to you
Stop yourself and listen
Some things you can never choose
Even if you try, yeah
You're hangin your head again
Cause somebody won't let you in
One chance, one love
Your chance to let me know

We can't go on
Just running away
If we stay any longer
We will surely never get away
Anything you want...we can make it happen
Stand up and turn around
Never let them shoot us down
Never, Never
Never, Never run away

Hey baby you know it's time
Why you bother lying when you know
That you want it too
Don't you dare deny me
Walk those legs right over here
Give me what I'm dying for
One chance...one love
Hold me down never let me go

We can't go on
Just running away
If we wait any longer
We will surely never get away
Anything you want...we can make it happen
Stand up and turn around
Never let them shoot us down
Never, never
Never, never run away
Never, never
Never, never run away

Hey baby I'm talking to you
Stop yourself and listen
Some things you can never choose
Even if you try, yeah
You're bangin your head again
Cause somebody won't let you in
One chance, one love
Your chance to let me know

We can't go on
Just running away
If we stay any longer
We will surely never get away

OO OO Never
OO OO Never

We can't go on, Never
We can't go on, Never

OO OO Never
OO OO Never

We can't go on, Never
We can't go on, Never

this is my favorite heart song. i was a lil girl when it came out and i hadnt heard it in a long time. a few days ago i heard it again and i got goose bumps. i love heart, those girls are awesome musicians.

i think this song is about a guy who is reluctant to get into a rel'p but the girl is very into him. and she is trying to convince him that they are good together.

"We can't go on Just running away If we stay any longer We will surely never get away"

to me it also seems like she is saying its futile to keep running away cuz they will end up together.

this song is perfect for any couple who arent sure if they should be together cuz other ppl dont like them together. "never let them shoot us down" instead of worrying about what others think they should just enjoy each other. just my thoughts

Certain verses of this song do not apply, such as the 2nd, but to me this song is about the chorus..."We can't go on, just running away, if we stay any longer, we will surely never get away"

...it's about knowing that if you want someone in your life, you're offering them this one last chance to let you know, because you know what they've been doing, for quite some time, and you've willingly played along, only because it was coming from THEM, and them alone. A tapestry of guised imperfections, intrigue and eroded trust and deluded self respect. Too deep an insight here lol but hey that's what it means to me. Congrats on the baby, I love you. Have a good life. We can't go on...never xo

i am interested in what others have to say about it as well. i loooove this song. I can't figure it out. First she says...we can't go on running away...then she says, if we don't run away we may be stuck forever. obviously she's for them...

I feel like this is a song about a girl who maybe works or is in close contact with a guy who isn't currently into her but has just had some problems withi his current girl, and the work (per say) is really into him and is basically saying take a chance with her....

I think it's about two people having an affair, and the guy is unsure if he wants to leave his wife/girlfriend for this woman. the "running away" is them hiding and having the affair, and she wants him to really commit to a real relationship.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
