It's the mystery of Inequity
Said it's the misery of Inequity
Said it's the history of Inequity
When it all
All falls down
Telling you all
It all falls down

Children
Eat your bread
Little children
Eat your bread
'cause it all
All falls down
Telling you all
It all falls down

Yo!
Ya'll can't handle the truth in a courtroom of lies
Perjures the jurors
Witness despised
Crooked lawyers
False Indictments publicized
Its entertainmentthe arraignments
The subpoenas
High profile gladiators in bloodthirsty arenas
Enter the Dragon
Black-robe crooked-balance
Souls bought and sold and paroled for thirty talents
Court reporter catch the surface on the paper
File it in the system not acknowledged by the Maker
Swearing by the bible blatantly blasphemous
Publicly perpetrating that "In God We Trust"
Cross-examined by a master manipulator
The faster intimidator
Receiving the judge's favor
Deceiving sabers doing injury to they neighbors
For status, gratis, apparatus and legal waivers
See the bailiff
Representing security
Holding the word of God soliciting perjury
The prosecution
Political prostitution
The more money you pay.. the further away solution
Legal actors
Babylon's benefactors
Masquerading as the agency for the clients
Hypocritical giants
Morally non-compliant
Orally armed to do bodily harm
Polluted, recruited and suited judicial charm
And the defense isn't making any sense
Faking the confidence of escaping the consequence
That a defendant is depending on the system
Totally void of judgment purposely made to twist em'
Emotional victim blackmailed by the henchmen
Framed by intentions
Inventions whereby they lynch men
Enter the false witness slandering the accused
Planting the seed openly showing he's being used
To discredit, edit, headed for the alleged
Smearing the individual fearing the unsuspected
Expert witness (the paid authority)
Made a priority to deceive the majority
Of disinterested peers
Dodging duty for years
Hating the process
waiting to be returning to their careers
Do we expect the system made for the elect
To possibly judge correct?
Properly serve and protect?
Materially corrupt
Spiritually amuck
Oblivious to the cause
Prosperously bankrupt
Blind leading the blind
Guilty never defined
Filthy as swine
A generation purin it's own mind
Legal extortion
Blown out of proportion
In vein deceit
The truth is obsolete
Only two positions:
Victimizer or Victim
Both end up in destruction trusting this crooked system
Mafia with diplomas keeping us in a coma trying to own a piece
of the "American Corona"
The Revolving Door
Insanity every floor
Skyscraping, paper chasing
What are we working for?
Empty traditions
Reaching social positions
Teaching ambition to support the family superstition?
When the Son of Podition is Commander in Chief
The standard is Thief
Brethren can we candidly speak?
Woe to the men
Trusted in the chariots dem'
Leaning on horses
They run their intellectual sources
Counterfeit wisdom creating the illusion of freedom
Confusion consumes them
Every word they speak it turns them out really white
Internally they absent of light
trapped in the night and bonded to the Cain of the night
Under the curse
Evil men waxing more worse
Faxing the first
Angelic being cast to the earth
It's time for rebirth
Burnin' up the branch and the root
The empty pursuits of every tree bearing the wrong fruit
Turning me ill
Let him who stole, no longer steal
Oh it's real
Surrender for Jehovah is real
How long will you sleep
Troubled by the thoughts that YOU keep
The idols YOU heap
Causing the destruction you reap
Judgment has come
Find it and return to the One
Abandon the flesh
Self-interest: Broadway to death
Pride and the Greed
Hide and subdividing the seed
The knowledge of Good and Evil is what caused us to lie
Caused us to die
Let your emotions be crucified
Renounce all your thoughts
Repent and let your mind be re-taught
You'll find what you soughtwas based on the deception you bought
A perception of naught
Where the majority remains caught

Loving a lie
Not realizing in Adam, all die

Loving a lie
Not realizing in Adam, all die

Loving a lie
Not realizing in Adam, all die

Loving a lie
Not realizing in Adam, all die

It's the mystery of Inequity
Say it's the history of Inequity
Say it's the misery of Inequity
When it all
All falls down
I'm telling you all
It all falls down

This song reached out of my friends car radio and gently shook me. It is so deep, what a song to have on a journey. I believe she sees something a lot of people miss. I adore this song, it's challenging and comforting at the same time.

It's time for rebirth Burnin up the branch and the root The empty pursuits of every tree bearing the wrong fruit Turning BE HEALED (not turnin me ill) Let him who stole, no longer steal Oh ISREAL (not it's real) Surrender for Jehovah is real makes a little more sense that way. love this song, the end especially.

Powerful. Poetic. Brilliant. Beautiful. Lauryn Hill is an amazing artist, to say the least. This album is proof of the lameness of the music industry. When a song (for lack of a better word) like this only gets four comments, you KNOW that what she's talking about is real, and and that it's raw. The world can't handle the truth. Loving a lie not realizing in Adam, all die.

Why does this song have only 4 comments? Obviously, Lauryn Hill is criticizing the legal justice system but the way she does it is beautiful and poetic. I wish Lauryn Hill would come out with more music.

I know she says that when she mentions Adam she's talking about all of humanity. But what exactly does that mean? Is this a biblical reference? And what exactly does this mean "Oh ISREAL (not it's real) Surrender for Jehovah is real" I love Lauryn and her music is amazing but a lot of it is biblical and I'm not a religious person so some of this goes over my head. Can anyone elaborate?

Lauryn said it all about the true meaning of America in this piece. It is that which K-Rino; MJ (Michael Jackson); Whitney; TuPAC; Dave Chappelle and all like them were and is still attempting to wake up in the individuals whom are soul sleep out there. They cannot come out and tell it as is because whenever others such as MJ did, they all ends up like MJ. I am thus surprise that Lauryn still exists, she, Katt Williams, and D Chappelle is target. Oh, and by the way, there is no need to worry about who to vote for that is already determined, the SELECTION is already determined, even for those who are yet sucking their mother's milk down to the ones whom are not yet born. I--U-I-A-I’ The Alpha not the Omega–That which, “Was, Is and Always Will Be the One and only True Godhead. Beware I--U-I-A-I, your end is yet to come!!! Hey Lauryn K-Rino; MJ (Michael Jackson); Whitney; TuPAC; Dave Chappelle; Katt Williams, I hear, I see, I know, I love you all. I AM AWARE. All Thanks to God–be the Glory, great things He has done. Salam, Namaste, Peace, Amen. . .

What makes this recording so chilling and amazing is the thought provoking poetry, if not fortune telling; Based on the the repeated madness of all social interaction across all boards. It is truly more to the spirit of Folk, Reggae, Hip-Hop, to express and illustrate so articulately the cycle of madness that we call judgement. It is truly a song representing the oppressed if not repressed; which in many accounts can be relative to all of us on separate scenarios. I pull a 180 degree on my comrade achapapa. Clearly Lauryn recognized a pattern and it is timeless to this date! The fact that she performed this so intimately and without a stutter is an achievement in itself; Not many artists have this amount of vision or discipline. It is truly one of the most powerful songs I have ever heard, for those who are looking for true prophecy, and maybe even need the inspiration to seek change of it!

    My Opinion
from perspective of the phrases in the text, its obvious that is about the decadent times in which we live i.e. people should wake up and understand that they are following wrong concepts ruled by Legal actors, suggesting we should all return to the Savior and restore an Union with Him seeking the road of Salvation ,,, Inequity here simply refer to Denial of the sovereignty of God ... en.wiktionary.org/wiki/iniquity#Noun @achapapa first of all, look at Lauryn as Orthodox Christian thus analyze her symbolism in this unplugged album through this prism ... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Eastern_Orthodox_Christians#Musicians_and_composers then, if after all u want to talk about her idealism, and not about the symbolic poetry poured down from this artist, then u should go to rationalwiki or orthodoxwiki, i'll sugest to all agnostics ask ur self where is the border or rather the frontier between Determinism and The Free Will then go ahead with similar assumptions like any agnostic psychologist, life is not just black and white logic tho with many opposites yet u can judge somethng only if u have had gone in its true roots and see from first hand why this or that is like that ... orthodoxinfo.com/inquirers/freewill.aspx

This song is Swift's response to the negative reputation the media has given her. "I can make the bad guys good for a weekend" - the bad guys are the paparazzi to Swift, but are good to the "player" since association with Swift immediately gives publicity. Any publicity is good publicity and Swift knows this. "You can tell me when it's over" - the tabloids rumor relationships are over before the couple announces it officially. With this song Swift is portraying the way she is portrayed by the media. It is a sarcastic jab at how she views herself and how her "ex-lovers" only wanted to be with her to increase their fame. I applaud the brilliance in writing about how you always write about relationships. It is expected so Swift is giving the media what they want and profiting off the attention.

Anti-Hero

I believe this is another amazingly on point and nuanced commentary on the insanity that follows emotionally abusive relationships. The abuser has no anxieties, no emotional pain, or salience/memory for that matter, so the survivor appears to be the crazy one, obsessed with the abuse and that buzzword that seems to ignite arguments about diagnosing people without a degree, etc. funny how you say the words domestic violence, abuse, abuse survivor and boom the subject changes. Anyways, I especially relate to her midnights becoming afternoons, complex PTSD often leads to this phenomenon, whether due to purposeful sleep deprivation by the abuser, or just hyper vigilance associated with the PTSD, along with the fear of facing people, especially your loved ones, who Never actually understand, even if they try, because all they see is you, on fire, screaming about the arsonist that no one ever sees, and who has been spreading lies about your alleged mental instability, deceptive personality, etc. the whole time. While the last thing survivors need is more blame, our society supports a narrative that blames the objectively innocent party because the blatantly guilty party has spent their entire lives fabricating a persona and we’re just being human, and human psychology is quite counterintuitive especially in the context of trauma. Look at Amber Heard. Vilified and not believed, regardless of what any abuse survivor could recognize as a fellow survivor instantly. But Johnny depp is a malignant narcissist, a man, and wealthy as all get out. It’s sick.
