Get Your Gunn Lyrics
The housewife I will beat
The pro-life I will kill
What you won't do, I will
I bash myself to sleep
What you sow I will reap
I scar myself, you see
I wish I wasn't me
I am the little stick
You stir me into shit
I hate, therefore I am
Goddamn your righteous hand
Goddamn (hoo, Lord)
Goddamn (hoo, Lord)
Goddamn (hoo, Lord)
On the talk shows for the weak
Selective judgement, goodguy badges
Don't mean a fuck to me
I slit my teenage wrist
The most I can learn
Is records that you burn
Get your gunn
Get your gunn
Get your gunn
On the talk shows for the weak
Selective judgement, goodguy badges
Don't mean a fuck to me
Pseudo-morals work real well
On the talk shows for the weak
Selective judgement, goodguy badges
Don't mean a fuck to me
Record me with your fist
Want me to save the world?
I'm just a little girl
On the talk shows for the weak
Selective judgement, goodguy badges
Don't mean a fuck to me
Pseudo-morals work real well
On the talk shows for the weak
Selective judgement, goodguy badges
Don't mean a fuck to me
Get your gunn
Get your gunn
Get your gunn
Get...

I'm not in the mood to comment on the song, but I can add a little relevant information to this page.
The intentional spelling error in the title is a reference to a gynecologist named Dr. Gunn (I forget if the first name was Peter or David) who was killed by pro-life activists.

I read manson saying this about this song:
"The title is spelled with two n's because the song was a reaction to the murder of Dr. David Gunn, who was killed in Florida by pro-life activists while I was living there. That was the ultimate hypocrisy I witnessed growing up: that these people killed someone in the name of being 'pro-life.'"
Awesome song, though. :-)

To me this little story has two meanings:
1.) The singer points out the hypocrisy of people who preach life and also take it away. They are lairs and fakes and the narrator will have none of them.
2.) The singer is warning us about becoming that which we hate, as the singer references hating and scaring himself. The people he loathes are so hateful that he becomes a reflection of that hate and anger and in the process damages himself. Hate too much and that's all you become. "I hate therefore I am." Hate these people, but don't become them. Also, he says he's doing things just because they do not do them. That's blind hatred.

That's very interesting. That plays in particularly well with the lyric, "pseudo-morals work real well" and the talk of "selective judgements."

these lyrics are slighty off :) the oh lord part is right i guess. Its more oo than an oh but you get the idea. i am the little stick you stir me into shit "I hate therefore I am" Goddamn your righteous hand Goddamn (oh, Lord)

I don't know if this has already been posted, but I thought this song was about an abortionist named Robert A. Gunn (hence the mispelling of gun) Mr. Gunn gave women abortions and was eventually killed by a Christian who opposed abortion. This perspective makes a lot of since in context with the lyrics
"I eat innocent meat"- unborn children "The pro-life I will kill"- the "pro-life" is the name for the people who oppose abortion "What you sow I will reap"- the babies are what is sowed, they are reaped through abortion. The chorus is about the hypocrisy of Christians being morally against murder, but then turning around and murdering people, i.e. Mr. Gunn. The rest of the lyrics don't exactly deal with abortion per se, but they deal with the overall theme of being anti-Christian and the struggle it is having to put up with their shit day in and day out. They also deal with the "guilt?" and other feelings that someone who performs abortions may feel about himself, the world, life in general, etc... Also this idea is hinted at in the album artwork, where the lyrics to this song is writter are images of coathangers, which are the tools used for household abortions not performed by a medical physician.

I hate therefore i am is a play on descartes i think therefore i am

Another thing...are these lyrics correct? I'm too lazy to check, but i sounds like it's "goddamn your lord" or "goddamn the lord", which fits the anti-pro-life anthemness. In any case, isn't goddamn but once?

Mansons older music is better than his newer stuff but his NEW album is supposed to make up for it. And the first like is Goddamn Your Rightouse Hand! You should no that!!!!!! :)

There's a great load of sarcasm in this song. A lot of mockery over not just the pro-life people who killed Gunn, but everyone who hides behind false morals and he seems to be making fun of depressed teenagers a lot..
