I'll Find My Way Home Lyrics
Am I so lost in my sin
You ask me where did I fall
I'll say I can't tell you when
But if my spirit is lost
How will I find what is near
Don't question I'm not alone
Somehow I'll find my way home
So shall my heart be at peace
And if you're asking me when
I'll say it starts at the end
You know your will to be free
Is matched with love secretly
And talk will alter your prayer
Somehow you'll find you are there.
And speaks in far ancient tongue
A seasons wish will come true
All seasons begin with you
One world we melt into one
Somehow we're going somewhere
Somehow we're going somewhere
Am I so lost in my sin
You ask me where did I fall
I'll say I can't tell you when
But if my spirit is strong
I know it can't be long
No questions I'm not alone
Somehow I'll find my way home
Somehow I'll find my way home
Somehow I'll find my way home
Somehow I'll find my way home

I absolutely HATE it when someone claims to say 'this is the TRUE meaning' of a song! If you truly appreciated music, or perhaps aged a bit not just chonologically but emotionally, you'd understand that music lyrics can be ANYTHING you want them to be...that is how we appreciate music! And perhaps it means something entirely differently to Vangelis, but only people with tunnel vision accept lyrics as one way. This is not an attack on the previous thread of Christianity vrs Atheism...just saying to open your ears!!!! You might hear a song that has significant meaning just for you and your life! Have a wonderful day.

1) Nope, link doesn't work...
2) Are you implying it's a Christian song? I've always interpreted it exactly the opposite way -- an atheist (like myself) explaining to a Christian why his/her life isn't empty. I have even referred a close (christian) friend of mine to this song, because she could not understand how I can possibly be happy.
I might be "lost in my sin", i.e. not believing in God. But that doesn't mean I miss anything in my life. I find happiness in my life, by looking at the world how it is, not how I want it to be ("my sun shall rise in the east / so shall my heart be at peace").
Also, I love the "Your friend is close by your side / and speaks in far ancient tongue" -- "your friend" being Jesus, obviously. But "all seasons begin with you" -- to make things happen, you only have to turn to yourself. You are the one that can make a difference in your life, not a man who died 2000 years ago.
I truly think this is one of the most inspirational songs I've ever heard. I may not have the comfort many people find in God, but I don't need it. I'm not alone, and I'll find my way home.
@dreamgirl1983 very good take on the lyrics. I am an atheist myself and have never thought that this song might relate to christianity. I currently re-discovered my interest in ancient egyption mythology and religion and when I heard this song again on some old Spotify playlist (albeit a cover version from Project Pitchfork) I was reminded of Aleister Crowley and his kemenitic inspired Thelema. I'm not a thelemite myself but a friend of mine is and I have some insights in their believe system. "sun shall rise in the east" and "speaks in far ancient tongue" and especially "your will to be...

"sun shall rise in the east" and "speaks in far ancient tongue" and especially "your will to be free is matched with love secretly" gives me a lot of Thelema or even Luciferan/satanistic vibes. "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law" and "love is the law, love under will" jumped into my mind. @ShannyH stated correctly, the meaning is different for every listener. Every listeners life, experience, believes are different. There is no way that my Interpretation is the right one. Meaning of lyrics even change for the writers themselve when they age. I love those lyrics, they give me a hopeful and somehow romantic feeling. Just had that song on repeat for an hour drive in my car. Lol

true dat lol
Song artist should be "Jon & Vangelis" not Vangelis but hey ho. Great song. Loved it 26 years ago and it's still got that intangible, ethereal "je ne sais quoi". Meaning? No idea. Very spiritual- the after-life? Who knows? Time to re-evaluate all that prog rock stuff I reckon. Yes were very uncool in the early 1980s but "Roundabout". Wow. This song. Wow. "State Of Independence", "I Hear You Know". Get well soon Mr. Anderson.
