It blinds my eyes to see you.
It bleeds my hands to touch your face.
It burns my ears to hear you.
It mutes my tongue to say your name.
Pulling out arrows from my calloused heart

this is also a good song... of course, anything Zao is great... i love it all... lyrically this song is very good too... i believe it is about love... the verses are poetic ways to describe the pain that Dan feels in association with this person (possibly the infamous Tiffany?)... the chorus and the bridge which isn't in the lyrics ('pull out the arrows from my heart') are symbolic of pulling Cupid's arrows from his heart... Cupid's arrows cause people to be struck with love ... it seems that Dan either regrets loving this person or wishes he never did for some reason or another... pulling Cupid's arrows from his heart represents destroying this love... the title is obviously about killing Cupid, either to stop him from his job, or to get revenge on him for the 'worthless' love Dan has experienced...

This is by far my favorite song off their new album. The lyrics almost have a shakespearian twist to them. I love the song.

unfortunately, this is the only song (besides "ballad of buddy bigsby") that I like on the new record. I always liked thier faster stuff, and the solo and double vocals rock. I only wish the rest was as good

buddy bigsby was a techno type song..it was kind of pointless.Zao could have replaced it with a different song. All the songs are awesome, but the balad fo buddy bigsby wasnt necessary....thats my oppinion..

This song makes me think that Dan (or whomever the song is written about/for) fell in love and it wound up biting him in the ass cuz the other person took advantage of it. He's a bitter, bitter man. But then, when it happens to us, aren't we all?

this song is about being in love with an asshole who just hurts you in every way possible, you want to love them more and more but you just en up being hurt. His heart is calloused from all its taken...hes pulling out the arrow, he wants to live, he wants to forget.

by far, my favorite song on parade of chaos, i love it, i can really feel and relate with this song..!

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Head > Heels
Ed Sheeran
“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
