I feel it washing over me, the slow poisonous tide. Pins and needles dance on me. Sickness undefined. Now I'm afraid to face the sky. Please someone hear my haunted cries. Please them waken me. With eyes sewn shut I still can see all that is surrounding me. I end up somewhere, somewhere between... between a dream and motionless reality, will I forever life? I feel binding so smoothly. I see myself below. I feel it gnawing, eating me. Poisonous and slow. My mind it speeds. My voice has died. God let me make the faintest cry. Opened up and for the taking, just one touch and I'll be yours. Opened up wide for the breaking. Just one touch and I'll be yours. What's on the other side of the mirror? To cry, I try, to break the static keeping me here in between.

Yeah Dream of WAKING!! This song seriously rules though. SO whats it about....hmm well its sorta obvious what its about I THINK heheh im probably wrong. well it seems like its just about wanting to wake up from a really bad nightmare, so he's 'dreaming of waking up' and he is just going through all the strange, panicking, bad feelings you have in a nightmare. You can see this in the very last line "To cry, I try, to break the static keeping me here in between." which means he trys to break the 'static' that is keeping him asleep so that he wakes up. Another thing is that Davey calls the nightmare "somewhere between... between a dream and motionless reality". I reckon this is pointing out that a nightmare is between a beautiful dream and horrible, cruel reality. It is sort of a mid point - a nightmare isnt as nice as a dream, but it isnt is bad as reality. THERE we go I have deciphered yet another song! Actually that was my first ;-) cool. Anyway AFI rule, Black Sails in the Sunset is the best album with the best lyrics. This song isnt on any CD albums, its on the vinyl Art of Drowning which I will never be able to god damn find. Thank god I heard it on a free CD with a magazine.

INTERCOURSE?! well, thats a first timer. I have to agree with sugar punk..that its about a nightmare or something. Anyway, the song's great. I love the part in the near end where the rhythm changes. Pure radness.

no no no. a story at three is about intercourse, kids. harty har. i think its more about feeling stranded. trying to break the static.blah blah blah is trying to change something in his life he doesn't like. but is frustrated. i also think that his voice is pretty much mute to everyone around him and that someone just needs to love him and he'll be thiers.... somehow ithink i'm wrong , but do i care? no.

    x Sean the terrible.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
