When I met you in the restaurant
You could tell I was no debutante
You asked me what's my pleasure
A movie or a measure?
I'll have a cup of tea and tell you of my dreaming
Dreaming is free
I don't want to live on charity
Pleasure's real or is it fantasy?
Reel to reel is living rarity
People stop and stare at me
We just walk on by
We just keep on dreaming
Feet feet, walking a two mile
Meet meet, meet me at the turnstile
I never met him, I'll never forget him
Dream dream, even for a little while
Dream dream, filling up an idle hour
Fade away, radiate
I sit by and watch the river flow
I sit by and watch the traffic go
Imagine something of your very own
Something you can have and hold
I'd build a road in gold
Just to have some dreaming
Dreaming is free

I can't believe no one has commented on this yet. i really like this song...favorite line is the last dreaming is free, how true I also like I never met him, I'll never forget him it's like meeting someone and just "dreaming" what could be and how great it could be but never doing anything about it.....this hits close to home.

Here is a list of all the songs (that I know of) where you hear Darcy's voice...

Bury Me Daydream Cherub Rock Blew Away La Dolly Vita Jellybelly To Forgive Cupid De Locke Where Boys Fear To Tread Thirty Three 1979 We Only Come Out At Night Beautiful Farewell And Goodnight Dreaming Perfect Daphne Descends Shame Blank Page Raindrops + Sunshowers The Imploding Voice Blue Skies Bring Tears (Machina 1 Version)

I'm not sure about Bury Me...I heard somewhere that it was actually James, after eating a whole bunch of M&Ms and Twinkies, who was doing the "female" vocals.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
