@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
Left on an eastbound train
Gone first thing this morning
Why is what's best for you
Always the worst thing for me
When am I gonna learn?
Why 'cause I'm tired of hating
When will it be your turn?
Why 'cause I'm tired of waiting
No, I don't, No, I don't, No, I don't
No I don't find faith in your false feelings
Not through my own misleading
Who'll buy this lie you're selling
Tired of this lie you're telling
I don't, I won't
No I won't do this anymore
I don't, I won't
No I won't do this anymore
Said I won't tell her half of it
That's probably good,
There's only half worth tellin'
Every time I try to laugh it off
That's when we turn around
And wind up yellin'
When am I gonna learn?
Why 'cause I'm tired of hating
When will it be your turn?
Why 'cause I'm tired of waiting
No, I don't, No, I don't, No I don't
No I don't find faith in your false feelings

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it.
“I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.

Cranberries, The
"Zombie" is about the ethno-political conflict in Ireland. This is obvious if you know anything of the singer (Dolores O'Riordan)'s Irish heritage and understood the "1916" Easter Rising reference.
"Another head hangs lowly
Child is slowly taken
And the violence caused such silence
Who are we mistaken
-
Another mother's breaking
Heart is taking over"
Laments the Warrington bomb attacks in which two children were fatally injured on March 23rd, 1993. Twelve year old Tim Parry was taken off life support with permission from his mother after five days in the hospital, virtually braindead.
"But you see it's not me
It's not my family"
References how people who are not directly involved with the violence feel about it. They are "zombies" without sympathy who refuse to take action while others suffer.

Of Mice & Men
This track is about is about questioning why the sky would choose to be blue if it had the choice to be anything else, “blue also meaning sad,” states frontman Aaron Pauley. “It's about comforting a loved one in a time of loss by telling them you feel blue, too.”
i love this song, and the whole album but aren't these lyrics a little wrong? isn't it 'not fooled by your misleadings' instead of 'not through my own misleading' and, 'won't buy this line your selling' instead of who'll buy this lie you're selling' :s and as for the second verse.. it starts,
'She says I'm only telling half of it That's probably 'cause there's only half worth telling'
nods anyway, great song and 'do this anymore' suggests someones fed up.. of lies 'tired of this lie your telling' among other things.. i dunno really!
someone really needs to fix the lyrics of this song. Another mistake that wasn't mentioned... it's "I don't find faith in your forced feelings." not "false" feelings.
I love this song.. it reminds me of a past relationship that always seems to come back to haunt me because of my mistake of staying with him because of those "forced feelings." But one day I came to the epiphany of realizing what it says in this song, after wasting 2 and a half years of my life on that jerk.
But I still love the song. ^.^
Okay, I dont really get what the song is about? can someone like explain it to me? Cause I really dont get it :/
this song kicks serious ass, check it out at nickelbacklive.cjb.net ;]
I really like this song too.
Listening to this song right now, great, about a relationship having problems and theyre fighting then they break up. Fairly straightforward
I agree, Syko. Well, took the words right out of my mouth. I guess I have nothing to say..?
