I can't say what you mean to me
It's hard to explain and it's hard to breathe
I melt like a candle when you come near me
If only I smelled
So fresh and so clean
As cucumberberries

I get weird looks
When I'm lookin' at you
Cause I forget to close my mouth
When I stare
It's not fair
I'm so confused
Cause I can't figure out
What you're talkin' about
You say that you're lucky
But that can't be

Oh, and I can't shake this feeling
That I'm not really awake
That I must be dreaming
But when I pinch myself till my face is sore
Then slam it into the sliding glass door
I know it can't be fake

I can't hear what you say to me
I see your lips move but I dont hear you speak
I think the show last nite deafened me
Cause I smell like weed
And kerosene
Yes I smell like weed
Not cucumberberries

La, lalala, lalala
Lala cucumberberries
La,lalala, lalala
Cucumberberries
La, lalala, lalala
Lala cucumberberries
Cucumberberries

Oh, and I can't shake this feeling
That I'm not really awake
That I must be dreaming
But when I pinch myself till my face is sore
Then slam it into the sliding glass door
And I stare at you till my eyes go numb
Then pass out from way too much helium
I know it can't be fake

La, lalala, lalala
Lala cucumberberries
La,lalala, lalala
Cucumberberries
La, lalala, lalala
Lala cucumberberries
Your hair smells like cucumberberries

This is definitely my favorite song. It was meant to be a funny scewed up love song, and it turned into a story bout a sorry loser whos really lucky (me). First, I wrote the first phrase, and at the end I was trying to think of a good scent. And Ive always thought cucumber melon was the weirdest scent ever. So I combined that and wildberries into cucumberberries (one word)

Btw, cucmberberries is NOT, I repeat, NOT a euphimism for something, despite what many of you think. You nasty, perverted minds out there...but that is pretty funny

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
