I went into the wilderness with Uncle Walt
I discovered the wild
Learning to suck all the experience
Seeing the world through cradle's bars

The wild blessed me with an errant mind
Showing the way for the ultimate lore
I went around the world, beyond the wild
Finding my home from an ocean shore

Wayfarer, heart lander
What if I only had
One more night to live

Home is where the way is
My road goes on forever
One more voyage to go

Dead to the world
Alive for the journey

General CommentI think the name "Walt" does not refer to Walt Disney, but rather to Walt Whitman. In fact, if you are familiarised with Witman's poetry, you will see that this song relates to him.

General CommentI think it's about somebody who simply values their own life and lives every minute of it to the fullest. They're constantly thinking "this could be the last thing I do" so they refuse to settle down into an ordinary, repetitive life. They're always setting out on a new journey in search of new experiences.

General CommentHmm..I think it wants to say that children should be taught by exploring new things, and this exploration shall go on during their whole lives, and at the end of it they shall crave for more..also, the mentioning of Walt Disney's name suggests that the exploration in childhood should begin with the world of cartoons..I thinks...

General CommentI agree with Alucarda, except I don't think Disney's name is talking about cartoons. I think it's just to enhance that it's talking about kids, and maybe imagination.

General Commentman, this song makes me mad when I focus on the lyrics, but it is the third of 4 or 5 or w/e over the hills songs that is a true display of music as it should be.

I was brought up in a household where I was raised without any introduction to the one thing I like, biological engineering. my mom doesnt get it and nobody does. So this dude's got an uncle walt that brings him to his future passion when hes still pooing his pants, and i'm like, "I could have used an uncle walt... take me to some top secret lab..." so this guy has this passion that he was introduced to as a child, but worries he will die before he goes back to the woods every time he leaves, so he can't really enjoy it

General CommentI think it's about the transition from being a 'little kid' to wherever that phase starts ending. 'Wild' could be referring to imagination.

I would love it if someone would elaborate for me on this idea. I can't seem to get my thoughts to form intelligible sentences on the matter. Sorry.
