Goodbye, hard life
Don't cry, would you let it ride?
Good bye, hard life
Don't cry, would you let it ride?

You can't see the mornin'
But I can see the light
Try, try, try let it ride
While you've been out runnin'
I've been waitin' half the night
Try, try, try let it ride

And would you cry (goodbye) if I told you that I lied (I lied)
And would you say goodbye (don't cry)
Or would you let it ride?
And would you cry (goodbye) if I told you that I lied (I lied)
And would you say goodbye (don't cry)
Or would you let it ride?

Seems my life is not complete
I never see you smile
Try, try, try let it ride
Baby, you want the forgivin' kind
And that's just not my style
Try, try, try let it ride

And would you cry (goodbye) if I told you that I lied (I lied)
And would you say goodbye (don't cry)
Or would you let it ride?
And would you cry (goodbye) if I told you that I lied (I lied)
And would you say goodbye (don't cry)
Or would you let it ride?

Oh, I've been doin' things worthwhile
You've been bookin' time
Try, try, try let it ride

And would you cry (goodbye) if I told you that I lied (I lied)
And would you say goodbye (don't cry)
Or would you let it ride?
And would you cry (goodbye) if I told you that I lied (I lied)
And would you say goodbye (don't cry)
Or would you let it ride?

Would you let it ride?
Would you let it ride?
Would you let it ride?
Would you let it ride?

Try, try, try let it ride
Try, try, try let it ride (yeah)
Try, try, try let it ride (oh)
Try, try, try let it ride (oh)

Try, try, try let it ride
Try, try, try let it ride (yes)
Try, try, try let it ride (oh, oh)
Try, try, try let it ride

Try, try, try let it ride (yeah)
Would you let it ride?
Would you let it ride? (Yes)
Would you let it ride?
Would you let it ride?

    Song Meaning
It's the guy speaking the whole time. She's been out running around but she asks him to forgive her. He asks her "Would YOU cry and say goodbye if I told you that I lied or would you let it ride?" He wants to let it ride, "Beave, my life is not complete, I never see you smile", "Try, try, try to let it ride". "Baby you want the forgivin' kind and that's just not my style. Try try try to let it ride". Sorry, but I don't think it's going to ride, girl. And I think it's "You CAN see the morning but I can see the light". It makes more sense but it does sound more like he is saying can't. This may be the best song, recording, ever.

I'm not sure what the song is about, but I know how it was written! Okay so this i show it goes. One day, Randy and his band were one the road, going from Winnipeg (my hometown too) to New Orleans. And they were on the road, and they boxed in on the highway, so that is when there's a semi-truck in front and in behind you, and you can't get out. (its very scary) well I can't remember what happened, but I think someone got angry and the semi driver said "LET IT RIDE" and the song was born.

Someone should make a list of the songs that repeat the same phrase the most times. I don't think this song would win, but it would rank pretty high. 26 repeats of "let it ride" according to the lyrics above. That's pretty annoying.

I always thought it was "Try try try to let it ride" as well, especially since it has the "to" in there. That makes the others make no sense. Without the to, "ride" would still make more sense than "drive". I wonder if the first line above is wrong as well. It says "Hard life." I thought it was "I lied", which would fit with other lyrics in the song. As for the meaning, it sounds like a troubled relationship. Would you forgive and "let it ride", or would you "say goodbye" and leave. I'm a little unsure of who did wrong here though. Perhaps one did wrong and the other is asking how they would react if the situation was reversed.

This track is about is about questioning why the sky would choose to be blue if it had the choice to be anything else, “blue also meaning sad,” states frontman Aaron Pauley. “It's about comforting a loved one in a time of loss by telling them you feel blue, too.”

@Kahiara Actually I think the husband passed away, "She sang for you last night She heard you were calling" Many people say they have felt, heard, or seen their loved ones after they have passed. "Don't be scared now Close your eyes She holds guard tonight Go on forward no remorse Life will take it's course" This is said to the late husband by a third part (never named), who encourages him to pass on. Because life will eventually continue. The phrase "holds guard" refers to the ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/… ) which is a Christian ceremony held after someone dies. Now it is usually held right after the funeral, but in most celtiic countries the wake is held before the funeral. "She danced with you last night so you will remember All you have shared, a lifetime." This sentence feels as if the only thing it wants to convey is their history together, namely, husband and wife. For the rest it just refers back to the first verse.

Taylor Swift
This song is Swift's response to the negative reputation the media has given her. "I can make the bad guys good for a weekend" - the bad guys are the paparazzi to Swift, but are good to the "player" since association with Swift immediately gives publicity. Any publicity is good publicity and Swift knows this. "You can tell me when it's over" - the tabloids rumor relationships are over before the couple announces it officially. With this song Swift is portraying the way she is portrayed by the media. It is a sarcastic jab at how she views herself and how her "ex-lovers" only wanted to be with her to increase their fame. I applaud the brilliance in writing about how you always write about relationships. It is expected so Swift is giving the media what they want and profiting off the attention.

Alma Matters
Morrissey
The man has pseudo-friends who constantly criticize his actions. They moralize him, "teach" him and advise him to make a significant change in his life, because the way he is and what he does is not what they say it should be. They may find his life lame or immoral. They hold themselves up as role models. The man replies that he will make his own choices and decisions and he does not agree to unconditionally make himself under the influence of questionable quality advice. He justifies this by saying that there is always someone for whom he will be important, no matter what he does and no matter what he is. Although it is not said directly, I read it as meaning that he will always be important to himself in every way and he will always have his own support. "Everyone is different and maybe that's a good thing, but you exceeded that mark 1000 times" - I remember very well how sad the words I once heard (from my peers and it was in negative context) at school made me feel.
