You watch what I say
(Watch what I say)
Watch what I do
Because I really don't care
I really don't care
I know you're trying to get somewhere
You watch what you say
(Watch what I do)
I'm gonna get on you
I really don't care
I really don't care
You're never gonna go nowhere

(I get wet)
I get wet when the party is dying
I get wet without even trying
I get wet, I get wet, I get wet, I get wet
I get wet, I get wet, I get wet, I get wet
I get wet whenever you're trying
I get wet when I know that you're dying
I get wet, I get wet, I get wet, I get wet
I get wet, I get wet, I get wet, I get wet

You're making wars
You're breaking doors
And now you're on the floor
I really don't care
I really don't care
I know you're tryin' to get somewhere
You watch what I say
(Watch what I say)
Watch what I do
Because I really don't care
I really don't care
You're never gonna go nowhere

(I get wet)
I get wet when the party is dying
I get wet without even trying
I get wet, I get wet, I get wet, I get wet
I get wet, I get wet, I get wet, I get wet
I get wet when I know that you're dying
I get wet without even trying
I get wet, I get wet, I get wet, I get wet
I get wet, I get wet, I get wet, I get wet

I get wet when I know that you're dying
(I get wet)
I get wet without even trying
I get wet, I get wet, I get wet, I get wet
I get wet, I get wet, I get wet, I get wet, I get wet
I get wet whenever you're crying
(I get wet)
I get wet when I know that you're dying
I get wet, I get wet, I get wet, I get wet
I get wet, I get wet, I get wet, I get wet

I get wet when I know that you're dying
(I get wet)
I get wet without even trying
I get wet, I get wet, I get wet, I get wet
I get wet, I get wet, I get wet, I get wet, I get wet
I get wet without even trying
(I get wet)
I get wet when I know that you're dying
I get wet, I get wet, I get wet, I get wet
I get wet, I get wet, I get wet, I get wet

I get wet without even trying
I get wet when I know that you're dying
I get wet, I get wet, I get wet, I get wet
I get wet, I get wet, I get wet, I get wet
I get wet without even trying
I get wet when I know that you're dying
I get wet, I get wet, I get wet, I get wet
I get wet, I get wet, I get wet, I get wet

    Song Meaning

This song is difficult to understand. Face value it seems like it's just nonsense about getting pumped up. But you can try to look deeper into it and find/create another meaning. That's what I'll do because this would be a short post otherwise and I know Andrew is a smart/complex lad.

First off, I'm going to make the assumption that Andrew W.K. is singing from the POV of a girl. There's no clear evidence of that assumption other than the phrase "I get wet," and the female backing vocals. In my opinion, the song is seemingly about a girl that is kind of bored with her life (as far as relationships go). I'm going to guess she is hot, and she is surround by at least one dude trying to impress her (You're making wars, you're breaking doors") and fuck her.

"You watch what I say, what what I do, Because I really don't care, I really don't care, I know you're trying to get somewhere."

She seems to understand the dude's intentions and she seems bored. But she still has sex with him even though she realizes he is a loser and isn't going to do much with his life:

"I'm still going to get on you, I really don't care, I really don't, I know you're never going to go nowhere."

However, that section could also mean she is being a bitch (for lack of a better term), but she knows he won't leave her so she doesn't care. It's definitely open for interpretation. But I think my first deciphering makes sense when combined with the chorus.

She seems bored, but it also seems she gets horny really easily. She gets wet without even trying, and she gets wet when she knows here male counterpart is dying or perhaps desperate for her sex.

That's my interpretation, however it could just be a nonsense song about him getting amped, and "I Get Wet" might mean something other than female ejaculation. But I think this isn't the only time Andrew goes to the POV of a female. I think the same thing happens in his song "One Brother" but again that might be a wrong interpretation too.

Either way, I think both songs are excellent and I can listen to I Get Wet on a loop and feel awesome.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
