My friend Jack eats sugar lumps (x2)
Sugar Man hasn't got a care
He's been travelling everywhere

He's on a voyage
Across an ocean
Heard the sweet sound
Of wheels in motion

He's seen the hook that hides a haloed setting sun

My friend Jack eats sugar lumps (x2)
Sugar Man hasn't got a care
He's been travelling everywhere

He's seen the people
In the city
In the right lights
They're awful pretty

He's followed dusty tracks to eternity

Eating sugar
Made him purer
Tried to go it in Japan
Down the west coast, he's real famous
Kids all call him Sugar Man

My friend Jack eats sugar lumps (x2)
Sugar Man hasn't got a care
He's been travelling everywhere

He's on a voyage
Across an ocean
Heard the sweet sound
Of wheels in motion

He's seen the hook that hides a haloed setting sun

My friend Jack eats sugar lumps (x2)
Sugar Man hasn't got a care
He's been travelling everywhere

General CommentThis is an old '60s song by The Smoke. The sugar lumps are acid-soaked. That should make the rest of the song self-explanatory.

By the way, The Smoke's original version is the best. Check it out.
