You almost always pick the best times to drop the worst lines
You almost made me cry again this time
Another false alarm, red flashing lights
Well, this time I'm not going to watch myself die

I think I made it a game to play your game and let myself cry
Buried myself alive on the inside, so I could shut you out
And let you go away for a long time, God

I guess it's okay, I puked the day away
I guess it's better you trapped yourself in your own way
And if you want me back, you're gonna have to ask

I think the chain broke away and I felt it the day
That I had my own time
I took advantage of myself and felt fine
But it was worth the night I caught an early flight
And I made it home

I guess it's okay I puked the day away
I guess it's better you trapped yourself in your own way
And if you want me back, you're gonna have to ask
Nicer than that, nicer than that

With my foot on your neck, I finally have you
Right where I want you, right where I want you
Right where I want you, right where I want you

I guess it's okay I puked the day away
I guess it's better you trapped yourself in your own way
And if you want me back, you're gonna have to ask
Nicer than that (I guess it's okay I puked the day away)
Nicer than that (I guess it's better you trapped yourself in your own way)
And if you want me back, you're gonna have to ask
Nicer than that, nicer, nicer

i kinda agree with opheliadipity on what the song means... this is my interpretation just cuz its what happened to me and it makes sense... the girl broke up with him and he was sad at first but then realized its stupid to be sad because its all happened before and this time he's "not gunna watch himself die" so he finally gets over her and she wants him back and this is just how he knew it would turn out ("i finally have you right where i want you") where she would be wanting him back and the puking is when they broke up and he got real drunk and puked all the next day and how she kinda fucked herself over and he's not gunna come back to her that easily even though he wants to he knows he shouldnt.. yeah well thats my interpretation buts its prolly all wrong

    I love the chorus:

"I guess it's okay i puked the day away I guess it's better you trapped yourself in your own way And if you want me back You're gonna have to ask Nicer than that."

I just find a lot of emotion in the chorus, and it gives me chills everytime I hear it.

One of my all time favorite songs by The Used. The lyrics are so relatable especially when he says 'I buried myself alive on the inside' It's a great song, very dark and angst like. I love it!

Awesome, my favorite song of them. This takes me back to the early years of college and how alone I felt despite that I had all of my close friends...I remember just riding on the train, with this song blasting in my ears and soaking in his words and screams--it made me feel alive and not so sad.

This is one of my favorite slower songs by them! Along with tracks that most of you may not have heard yet. When this CD comes out anyone who likes these songs should check it out, its amazing.

I'm pretty sure the lyric "I guess it's okay of you to stay away" should be "I guess it's okay i puked the day away"

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
