(The PHANTOM and CHRISTINE take their strange journey to the PHANTOM'S lair. Candles rise from the stage. We see CHRISTINE and the PHANTOM in a boat which moves slowly across the misty waters of the underground lake)

In sleep he sang to me,
in dreams he came
that voice which calls to me
and speaks my name

And do I dream again?
For now I find
the Phantom of the Opera is there -
inside my mind

Sing once again with me
our strange duet
My power over you
grows stronger yet

And though you turn from me,
to glance behind,
the Phantom of the Opera is there -
inside your mind

Those who have seen your face
draw back in fear
I am the mask you wear . . .

It's me they hear . . .

Your/my spirit and your/my voice,
in one combined:
the Phantom of the Opera is there
inside your/my mind . . .

He's there, the Phantom of the Opera ...
Beware the Phantom of the Opera ...

In all your fantasies,
you always knew
that man and mystery

were both in you

And in this labyrinth,
where night is blind,
the Phantom of the Opera is there/here
inside your/my mind

Sing, my Angel of Music!

He's there, the Phantom of the Opera ...

(She begins to vocalise strangely, her song becoming more and more extravagant.)

General Commentsorry for flipping out. I tend to do that alot when it comes to song names. anyway, for the first time they sing together, they both say 'my,' not one saying my and the other saying you, except for in your/my mind. also, only the phantom says sing my angel of music. and what offstage voices? do you hear voices? or maybe... hmm... i guess they might be voices, but the really don't sound like them...

General Commentinteresting fact: this number is traditionally never sung live because they use body doubles to make them appear to move from one side of the stage to the other in an instant.
