"When Death Had No Name" as written by and Glenn Danzig....
When death had no name
Time stood still
Life had no ending then

Before the word
There was no end
No fear, no mortal pain, no name
Nothing

And this thing mortals fear
Dubbed evil, hungry
Waiting to no avail
Withering

Life without an end
Death without a name
Without a name

And our Eden burns in flames
Can our Eden still remain
Still remain

Can you really make it end, yea
And this thing mortals fear
Dubbed evil, hungry
Waiting to no avail
Withering

Life without an end
Death without a

Yeah, when death had no name
Time stood still
Life had no ending then, yea
Oh oh yeah, yeah
Oh oh, oh oh oh, oh

General CommentI think this song is about a time in prehistory before human beings achieved a state of sentience. In the bible it is said that before adam ate from the tree of knowledge(sentience) they lived forever and in perfect harmony with the garden and its other citizens. Now, an "unaware" human being would have no knowledge of what death is, or really what life is. He would be like the animals, which simply exist and live in a state of immortality through their bloodline.
