resurrection .. is for those ..
who didn't get it right - the first time ...]

[eternal salvation suffers from inflation!!]

sinner!

say whut u need to save your soul
but don't fuck with me - eye'm losing control

eye'm so tired of this - so sick of u
my tongue is battered & bruised from all these attitudes

[sinner]

so teach me the magick of your sacred pomes
conjuring a voice of signs & omens

prophecies guide the breeze
w/syllables symbols breed

behind the eyes we climb the vine
to sacrifice our wounded minds

in soft wurd trances seek insanity
i can't save u cuz i hate me

[chorus]

the lord is my weapon - i shall shoot pawns
womyn is a devil - [your] GOD IS A FRAUD
everyone u knew - everything u've ever done
suffer for your freedom - RISE & OVERCOME

[sinner!]

say whut u need to save your soul
but leave your religion at the door

we're smoking all of Krsna's weed
eye'm sick of these weak anarchies

u see me as a place to make a bruise
but in my reality eye'm a slave to the muse

fuck those hypocrites - together we'll fight
the tyranny of squares - SQUIGGLES UNITE

[chorus]

[bridge]

all u sinners
-- and blasphemers!

BURN IN THE PIT!!

SINNER!
BURN!

[chorus]

[outro]

save me

WHY?

SALVATION!!

People try to "sell" their religion as the correct one. No one has any clue as to what is right and wrong...spiritually speaking of course. Live your life, talk about religion, but never, ever try to convert people to your believes of religion. Who made you the almighty?

    Z1z I disagree with you.

To me faith is about something you find yourself, on your own, in your journey with your higher self and the deity you worship. You shoudn't try to convert. You shouldn't try to "save lives." It only hurts. Believe me, I've tried. All you can do is put the tools on the table.

Who said Otep has no faith. I'm pretty sure I know what religion/spirituality she is.

This song is absolutely my favorite.

That first line is the best!

"say whut u need to save your soul but don't fuck with me - eye'm losing control

eye'm so tired of this - so sick of u my tongue is battered & bruised from all these attitudes"

This opening line is the best! It's saying do what you need to make your faith a reality, but don't intrude in my space. Don't bother me with your belief.

GnarxKill, it would be a good idea to be sure of what you are saying, before saying it. The song is called Sacrilege, but I belive that its called Lord is My Weapon on the Jihad-album. And the lyrics are exactly as they should be, if you own the cd, look inside the cover, you can see that its the exact same lyrics. : /

I find this song ironic because the theme is "sacrilige" according to most, yet the voice in the song is anything but. This is a song about true belief; from the soul, not regurgitated doctrine. At least, that is what it seems she is saying. Also, the line--"eternal salvation suffers from inflation"--seems to be reffering to the practice of buying ones way into Christian heaven. What is the difference between modern televangelists and medieval priests seelling indulgences...? Basically, the song seems to be commenting on the negative aspects of Christianity...The line "Woman is the Devil/Your God is a fraud" seems to be direct anger towards such beliefs.

"fuck those hypocrites - together we'll fight the tyranny of squares - SQUIGGLES UNITE"

The best lines in the whole song. The entire message summed up into one couplet.

Otep's lyrics are nonsensical rants by a very disturbed and mentally inferior mind. On top of it, they are very uneducated when it comes to what faith really is.

To have no faith in anything is when you have limits. To those with faith they don't see it as converting. They see it as showing you something better and unselfish.

It would be wonderful if you knew how to spell, know the correct lyrics and know that the song is called 'Lord Is My Weapon'.

    SIGH.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
