Don't want to feel you, don't want you on my mind
Don't want to feel you, don't want you on my mind
Don't want to feel you, don't want you on my mind
See I don't really know where to start
Everyday was a constant struggle
Why you always try play with my heart
When you knew all that brought was trouble?
Yo how did we get this far?
All we had was a broken puzzle
See we're better off being apart
Cuz we don't operate as a couple
Back then you was ever so fine
Till you lost that spark in your eyes
Back then it was always good vibes
Then I started to see all the signs
Back then you was a ride or die
But I guess that ride just died
See I knew you were moving sly
When I clocked all the lies, now I...
Don't want to feel you, don't want you on my mind
Don't want to feel you, don't want you on my mind
Don't want to feel you, don't want you on my mind
Girl you never brought shit to the table
Even though you were more than able
You told me you don't want no label
Come with your crooked smile like J Cole
Should've known you were fake like fables
You was all I had like J-lo
All the lessons I've learnt I'm grateful
Now don't call me up like Mabel
When it rains it pours I know
Now my hearts just cold like snow
Imma live, Imma learn, Imma grow
Where's the loves gone? I don't know
Bare regrets when I'm chilling at home
Delete old pics when I hold my phone
If you ever try call my phone
Please leave a message after the tone
No no no no no
Don't twist up my words
I'm not saying I want you, no
I'm not saying I want you, no
I'm not saying I want you, saying I want you, no
I said no no no no no
Don't twist up my words
I'm not saying I want you, no
I'm not saying I want you, no
I'm not saying I want you, saying I want you, no
Listen
I'm just taking time to reminisce
Listen, don't get big headed
Cos I know, first thing when you hear this you're gonna run and tell all your friends'
I never said this
I never said I want you back, your love was horrendous
I mean... kind of
Except for the time we spent out in Venice
Rolling like the waves, evenings in the shade
Your sweet kiss every day
You cut me deep like a blade, what's wrong with your brain
I can't even lie, we're one of the same
All this back and forth like a tug of war
Who hurts more?
I screwed you over, you screwed me over
I screwed you over
Then you had some screws loose, looking like Ebeneezer the Scrooge was over
Then you said, screw me then you screwed my friend
Just to pursue some closure
Just to close your wounds like whooptie doo well I hope that the blues is over
Fam, I couldn't stand it man
Going bang for bang like it was bang for bang
You pushed me to the edge like you want to come right home to a hanging man
Like whats that, it was just too much
I used to love you way back then, look
But it's just too much, just too much
Fam I'm good

Well it's a song about friendship...dreams to share, an invitation to fantasies. Let's be mad, everything is possible. The limits are in our heads.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
