Staring off from the library window
The pictures of girlfriends taped to the windshieds of the cars
That sit in the back lot
Nothing you can do no matter how hard you try
So don't take long for her new friends to realize what a bitch
That you are
Staring off from the library window
The roar of the engines feeding the egos of those perched
On top of the cars
Not that you'd notice, not that I'm standing
Well I'm sorry if I've been demanding a lot
From you lately
Stop it before I get too far
Stop before I stop and call
Run off to the phone with a load of cash
Think about all your friends
And anyone that hasn't left you yet
They will
It won't take long
But they'll all disappear
Why'd you lie to me
You always lied to me
You had to lie to me
So why'd you lie to
You always lied to me
The bitch she lies to me
You always lied to me
You had to lie to
To me
I couldn't help that you're infected
With all the things I injected to your veins
When you're asleep
Standing out on the ledge of the window
The role of the crowd is gathering below to collect
My bruised and battered self
What makes use of movie stars?
Caviar and films and cars
Teenage day parade
Try to think about all the warmth and anything that ever helps you out
Is gone
That's all right
Because you should just get out
Why'd you lie to me
You always lied to me
You had to lie to me
The bitch she lies to me
You always lied to me
You had to lie to
You had to lie to
You had to lie
To me

if this is Conor singing lead, who's singing in the background? It's quite possible he recorded this and then recorded backround a few years later... IM me - Lynzd4221 I love his voice.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.
