Look down
At the body
You may see no trace of wounds
But in the eye
The eye of the beholder
One cannot
Assume

Not a drop of blood is drawn
But you know how it bleeds
Beware of the sharp edged weapon
Called human being

It is a shield of passion
And strong will
From this I am the victor
Instead of the kill

I will not feed your hunger, instead
I bite the pain
Looking not back, but forward
I bite down hard
Try to cover up the trail of deceit
And daggers spawned from your soul

Acid, the tears of remorse
Flow in vain, too late for regrets
Save it
For the next ill fated game

It is a shield of passion
And strong will
From this I am the victor
Instead of the kill

I will not feed your hunger, instead
I bite the pain
Looking not back, but forward
I bite down

I think it's about killing someone but not physically so then you have to hold back or 'bite down' your feelings so your killer won't know they got to you.

You're a fucking idiot, this song is not about abortion. It's about someone who tries to demean and abuse you verbally "Not a drop of blood is drawn But you know how it bleeds Beware of the sharp edged weapon Called human being"

and about how the singer is strong enough to ignore and get through the pain his agressor tries to put him through.

Incredible song: I love this sentence "Acid, the tears of remorse Flow in vain, too late for regrets". It seems to me that the theme is similar to "Scavenger of human sorrow" and "Spirit crusher".

you got the meaning exactly Wallamanage. No its about people hurting other people with words and not lowering yourself to violence. "Beware of the sharp edged weapon called human being" is probably the best line in all of music. By the way the singers name is Chuck.

    My Opinion

This song [and really the whole album] really speaks to me because of past situations I've been in as an angry, short person and how people would mess with me. "I will not feed your hunger, instead, I bite the pain. Looking not back, but forward, I bite down."

He is singing about someone being attacked, verbally, and just takes it like a man, and doesn't fight back, as two wrongs don't make a right. He is the better man when he just lets it roll off his back. Humans can be the most evil beings on the planet. I've been in circumstances where sharks, cobras, scorpions, and pit bulls are a lot more loving and gentle than a human. That's saying a lot!

Mental abuse and perseverance would be my guess. "you may see no trace of wounds" "I will not feed your hunger"

However It almost seems like belligerent has been defeated and perhaps killed. "from this i am the victor" "too late for regrets. save it" "i bite down hard"

But then again " one cannot assume "

    My Interpretation

I'm convinced that its about a person who didn't stand up for himself after having been abused psychologically. He was hurt, but he was trying to hide it, in order to deny satisfaction to abuser. But "acid tears of remorse flow",

He seem to regret the way he handled the situation. But chooses not to dwell on the past, but rather saves his determination to stand up to bully next time.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"
