You won't repeat this for the rest of the crowd.
I know they will miss but you'll still feel proud.
but you'll still feel proud.
Say it's gold, say it's fine.
The secrets out that you're mine.
Say it's gold, say it's fine.

The secrets out that you're mine.
Yeah.
Say it's gold, say it's fine.
The secrets out that you're mine.
The television radiates as the clock ticks on and on and on.
It's getting too late and it's time to move on.
It's getting too late and it's time to move on.

Sounds like he got in a fight with his girlfriend or something, and they split up due to it. Maybe they had a hidden relationship and once people found out it all fell apart?

an exquisite display of Silversteins pottentially fulfilled talent that portrays the inner aggression, sadness, and anger throughout not only this song, but in every Silverstein song ever created. in other words.....Silverstein=best band in the world.

1st. silverstein= best band ever, i totally agree

this song could possibly be the best one ever by this band.. cuz when you compare it to all of the band's other songs this one is so simple. but it's beautiful at the same time...

and i think the concept behind the song is that these people are in a relationship and one is completely committed.. but the other is standoff-ish, and is in a way.. almost kind of afraid of admitted that they're in this relationship, like they want to keep it seceret, and i think its about dealing with that...that's how you get the lyrics like," you won't repeat this for the rest of the crowd" and the " the seceret's out that you're mine"

I love this song, not just for the emotional lyrics, but for the music. The way it flows; it's so pretty.

"You won't repeat this for the rest of the crowd / I know they will miss / but you'll still feel proud..."

They're in a trusting, loving relationship, but no one else understands. Everyone in "the rest of the crowd" "misses" the meaning of their love for each other, but "the crowd" doesn't matter because whether it's "gold" or "fine", their love rises above all.

"Say it's gold, say it's fine" is probably my favorite lyric ever. It has various, significant meanings to each and every individual. I really can't wait to get this tattooed.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
