Mind, of destructive taste
I choose...to stroll amongst the waste
That was your heart
Lost in the dark
Call off the chase
Walls of thought, strong and high
As my castle crumbles with time...
I think of you
Oh, yes I do
Such a crime
You opened fire...and your mark was true
You opened fire...aim my smilin' skull at you
You opened fire...
I live tomorrow, you I'll not follow
As you wallow in a sea of sorrow
Lines cut across my face
Why you laugh at my disgrace
I'll never know
How far to go
To reach that place
You opened fire...and your mark was true
You opened fire...aim my smilin' skull at you
You opened fire...
I live tomorrow, you I'll not follow
As you wallow in a sea of sorrow
I choose...to stroll amongst the waste
That was your heart
Lost in the dark
Call off the chase
Walls of thought, strong and high
As my castle crumbles with time...
I think of you
Oh, yes I do
Such a crime
You opened fire...and your mark was true
You opened fire...aim my smilin' skull at you
You opened fire...
I live tomorrow, you I'll not follow
As you wallow in a sea of sorrow
Lines cut across my face
Why you laugh at my disgrace
I'll never know
How far to go
To reach that place
You opened fire...and your mark was true
You opened fire...aim my smilin' skull at you
You opened fire...
I live tomorrow, you I'll not follow
As you wallow in a sea of sorrow

I have dealt with a few women like this. It was all about head games and nothing is better than pushing back when some psycho girl tries to get in your head. That is why such the long response to this song. I can relate 100%
I think you nailed it!
I think he had a wonderful catharsis when he realized that he had an easy out when her 'mind of destructive taste' 'opened fire' on him. He realized he didn't have to take it any more, but simply learned his lesson, and moved on. Afterall, she 'opened fire' showing her true colors. I get the sense that he spent some time feeling bad, feeling salt in his wounds, before he came to this epiphany, plain as day.
Its about not stooping to someone's level, and learning from their mistakes.
its a love song. a great one. an ode to the real meaning of love.
LOL @ "All WOMEN do this"
All PEOPLE do this. Apparently it's human nature. I wasn't even that attracted to my boyfriend when I met him but I thought he was a sweet guy so I gave him a chance. Well I slowly developed strong feelings for him and guess what? His online profile still says he's "looking," he does not care to change it nor does he care to reply to my emails when I ask who the women he's talking to are. Why? because he can tell I care. If I was still lukewarm about him he would be shitting his pants trying to answer my questions.
So you're right. Love is a mindfuck, it's a sick game and yes, you sure as hell lose when you fall for the other person. This goes for both genders, though.
