It's Friday night and the street's filled with freaks,
come watch as the useless flock to the beat
Of the techno noise that enhances their high,
a bombs gonna blow and I think you know why!

[Chorus:]
Everybody's running out, bodies hit the ground,
you'd better take cover
It's a pipebomb on lansdowne street

There's no room for dancing on your precious floors,
cause you've got to save space for the jocks and whores
You say that our shows are for violent thugs,
but we're not the ones on designer drugs

[Chorus]

It's not a bunch of little kids we're out to harm and maim, so maim
So make sure the night you hurl the pipe there's no baseball game
Look for flyers, check the phoenix,
are there any decent shows,
if Keith Bennett isn't working
Then the bomb is good to go.

(The problem with the world today is that nobody can take a joke anymore)

General CommentIt's not about a particular event. It is just saying how ironic it is that some people criticize their music because they say their concerts are violent and dangerous, while the people criticizing them do things much worse than what goes on at a DM concert. In short, they are mocking their critics by actually singing about something very violent, but they put their message across in the lyrics that there are other things to worry about than a mosh pit.

General CommentI think this song is about the Eurotrash that they sing about on the Singles Collection, which I don't really like. This song is just too violent for my tastes.

General Commentthis is an awesome song, very bruisersy. its a simple anti-mod (in this case raver) Oi! song. its almost identicle to techno bullshit by the templars

its about hating extravagent culture, another hallmark of good oi!, working class pride

    a personal favorite

General CommentI remember reading on the site or lyrics program from their site under this song something along the lines of "the sad thing about the state of the world today is that nobody can take a joke." This song is just a joke.

General CommentThe version I have has a bunch of bleeps in it, and the lyrics are definitely a lot different. For example the first verse is:

It's Friday night and the street's filled with freaks, [bleep] crawling [bleep] [bleep].
I'm going to shoot them all right in the balls!

General CommentThat version was released on the second singles collection. It's called a dance remix which i find fucking funny cause all the shitty techno songs they are talking about are all dance remixes that are just more of the same shit. DKM is just adding to the "joke" of the song by mocking the all the techno shit with dance remixes. If your looking for the original, takara, it's on The Gangs All Here CD.

General CommentThe Avalon Ballroom is also on Landsdowne, which is the place that Dropkick does alot of its boston shows, including its infamous St. Patrick's Day (week?) shows. so i guess it's not just that everything on this street sucks, but that they have to be there every now and then for shows and the whole "designer" upperclass techno faggotry bullshit goes on around them. i know i got some shit from some techno twats both before and after last year's st. paddy's show for wearing a kilt. what a bunch of tools.
