When the waves come crashing down on heaven (she will be there)
When the skies sends thunder through the horizon and the rain keeps falling
Do you believe in truth or in fantasy? (said she would be there)
Don't forget he risked it all for one last chance at going somewhere

On his back he lies awake and he's down again (is it all over?)
Looking up the one he trusts is beautiful bu nowhere to be found
Have you seen his lady called Lady Luck? (said she would be here)
Snake eyes, smile that's devilish
Calling out he sees her then she fades

Now he wants to know where did she go?
Now he wants to know where has she gone?
Now he wants to know where did she go?

There was a time when all his dreams were in his hands (now he's spinning)
Lucky charms and one-eyed jacks won't bring it back
The writing's on the wall
And the day when he believed in everything (now it's crumbled)
All the cracks he's staring at belonged to him
But a long time ago

Now he wants to know where did she go?
Now he wants to know where has she gone?
Now he wants to know where did she go?

And he seems to remember when he was stronger
The grass was greener, the air was clearer
The sun shone brighter, he wasn't frightened
Everything counted, nothing mattered
Was she a vision that he created?
Held onto, but now she's gone

When the minutes drag like all eternity (who will be there?)
When the black and white pictures fade to a dirty brown
And curl at the edges
Does he believe in fate or reality? (is there a distinction?)
Now his world is crashing down on heaven an yes she is gone

Now he wants to know where did she go?
Now he wants to know where has she gone?
Now he wants to know where did she go?
Now he wants to know where has she gone?
Now he wants to know where did she go?

I've heard this described as a love song (taking a risk and not having it pay off) but sounds much more like a straight forward gambling addiction message. Someone gets into it thinking they're going to get rich, they have a fool proof system to beat the house, they have luck on their side, etc. Eventually his luck runs out and he loses everything.

Probably my favourite DHC song. Brilliantly written lyrics, Elyse and Karina's trademark dueling vocals, and fantastically composed music. Fast paced and ska-infused, which is what they do best.

Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
