I can't hide it
I can't find it
When every nerve is
Crying out for release

I can't capture
The rapture
That passion that is
Burning inside me

I've lost so much
Chasing the perfect high
I've lost so much
I've never been as high as I was with you

Never been so high
I've never been as high as I was with you
I finally realized that's a perfect high
That's a perfect high

This hunger
It consumes me
I lost my soul as you came rushing
In my veins

A pathetic
Little junkie
But I'm the whore
That needs it one last time

I've lost so much
Chasing the perfect high
I've lost so much
That's a perfect high

wow nice lyrics... it seems to be about a guy who chose drugs over his girlfriend and regrets it... seems to happen way to often :-\

Sorry XoxKeLxoX, but you seem to be quite blind, it's not about him choosing drugs over his girlfriend, it's a metaphor of him comparing his girlfriend to a drug. "I've never been as high as I was with you, I finally realized that's a perfect high." He is saying that she is a drug to him, he's addicted to her and just needs her. He's been chasing after this "perfect high" and he's "lost so much" while chasing her, but he knows she's gone. Wow, they're lyrics and music is just so mesmerizing. Wish I could've seen em in concert b4 they broke up. Damn. Maybe they'll get back together one day... sigh I can always hope, right?

me tall i ca that seems right but i have a different idea. i dont care if its wrong its just what i think it is. ok so here it goes:

hes tried to stop doing this drug for a long time and once he finally did, he went back to doing it agian cuz "hes lost so mcuh chasing the perfect high" but then he realized that it was the perfect high. hes falling back into his old footsteps again. once he finally does it again he feels better.

alrgiht that took forever to type. &like i sed before i dont fucking care if its wrong or right its just what i always thought it was. you can agree or disagree.

Being a junkie, i must say this song describes so well the feelings of a heroin addict. that might not be what it's about but to me it will always be a song about heroin.

This hunger It consumes me I lost my soul as you came rushing In my veins A pathetic Little junkie

    this speaks to me.

good song regardless of what it's "supposed" to mean.

me_tall_i_ca came to the same conclusion I did. I think he was comparing an amazing relationship to a heroin high or something. It really is a great metaphor. And I agree that they were and amazing band and I really, really hope they get together again someday. It is so sad that they broke up the same year they released my favorite album of ANY band!

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
