I don't know how old I was
But it was a '65 pickup
I was lying on the ground
With flat iron bars over my head

One silver drop is all you need
To put a hole in your head at 2000 degrees
That's right man, you be the Metal Man
At 2000 degrees

That's hot
That's hot

And over my head the hot wire was sparking
I got something down on my chest
And it began to bubble

I was repairing my three on a tree
When a drip dropped down on me
That's right man, I'm the Metal Man
At 2000 degrees

That's hot

General CommentI'm pretty sure that the "three in a tree" bit is actually "three on the tree", which refers to a three-speed standard transmission with the shifter on the steering column (common in older vehicles, like for instance the '65 pickup in the song, but almost forgotten today in North America).

General CommentMaybe I'm just taking the lyrics too literally, but to me, it's clearly about someone getting run over by a car. Possibly a family, as mentioned above.

General CommentEither the murder of a family "I was her parent, my three in a tree", being run over "but it was a '65 pick up, i was lying on the ground" or just plain death in general.
