And everytime I think of you
I'll remember all the good times that we've had
And everytime I sing this tune
I will laugh, I will cry,
I will close my eyes
'Cause I know that it won't be long

Until we sing, we will write,
We will laugh away the night
And the good times will never end
When we meet again

And I'm gonna be somewhat lonely
'Cause you know no one could ever fill your shoes
As iron sharpens iron
You have tought me how to be a stronger man
And I look forward to the day I'll learn again

We will sing, we will write,
We will laugh away the night
And I know that it won't be long,
Until we meet again

Though I wish that I were with you now
I know there's a reason for space
I can dream of memories you're writing down
And I look forward to that day
And the smile on your face

We will sing, we will write,
We might cry and we might fight
And the good times will never end
We will laugh, we'll relax,
We'll reflect on the years we've past
And I know that it won't be long,
Until we meet again

how could you guys not comment on this song!!!!!!! this song captures every single aspect of a person .. just missing the crap out of someone else!!! i am missing someone to death right now. i see her in everything. imagine.. meeting someone (it feels weird just to say someone) finding everything about her perfect, that literally EVERY SINGLE ASPECT OF HER CHARACTER, ATTRIBUTES, is perfect. spending time with her, making sacrifices... so anyway . i met her and we met time and time again, and she came over my house and i came over hers, and we made memories, everywhere, we didn't do a lot, but IN DOING THAT we did so much.. and now.. she's gone. not gone but.. far away, not even TOO FAR AWAY.. just.. feels different(that kind of far away). and i see her in everything, and literally everyday i think of her. i just miss her so much. everything reminds me of her, because we made memories in my house, so my house jsut tortures me, because everytime i see the things, i think of her, and everytime i walk by that thing or that thing, i think of her. and i do think of the good times we've had, and i laugh at them, and sometimes i cry, and i even close my eyes to picture them, and she was so WISE, she did teach me, and i do think of her every day, and i do miss her smile, i miss her. and it's soem silly infatuation, i feel we have something beautiful, nothign like anything, just beauty, not self seeking, but fulfilling christ-based romance as someone well put in the other comment page. LITERALLY.. but anyway, i still hold on to the hope that in the future, i'll be able to experience it again, until we meet again.

sorry to write a novel but this song is beautiful

Standing On The Edge Of Summer

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
