Easy places to get away to.
Easy limbs languid all around you.
All my time is
Dirt on your hands.
Fingers drifting
Down my spine now.

Fall,
Fall,
Fall,
Fall,
Fall,
Fall.

Soundtrack to Mary.

Many minds wandering from room to room.
Many trees slain just to write it to you.
Many rays blinding,
Almost drowning,
Keep this whole shine,
Locked in my room.

Throw back the noise, get another one.
Pour out the rum, I've been drunk enough.
I know the sound that you made and I
Can't seem to reminder myself.

I hope you feel better
later on.

My InterpretationIt's definitely a love song. In my opinion, it's about a love that's gone but he can't stop thinking about it.

I think of the lyrics in the first verse as "all my time, yea... dirt on your hands".
As if to say "all the time that we spent together (my time) was a waste... a crime committed by you(dirt on your hands)"

In the bridge section, the lyrics should be "I know the sound that you made, and I can't seem to 'un-remind' myself"
Here, i think he's constantly remembering things about her, and though he may try to stop, he can't stop remembering.

As for the chorus, I feel like he's saying that Fall (as in the season) is the soundtrack to Mary (or his relationship with this Mary character).
I may be biased here though. Fall is my favorite season and always brings with it a heap of melancholic nostalgia. I had also dated a girl named Mary for a long time. And fall season brings back memories of her.

So ironically enough, Soundtrack to Mary is kinda my soundtrack to the fall season.

Anyway, I'm probably biased, but there's my take.

General Commentwhen i heard this song i just put it on repeat. it's fantastic. i think it's about a relationship that the girl is ashamed of for some reason (all my time is dirt on your hands) and she is starting to withdraw. The guy is really love sick, writing letter after letter trying to tell her how he feels, and then ripping them up. he keeps thinking about her, and ends up just getting drunk to try and forget about her. at first i liked it because i misheard the first verse. i thought the third like was "all those times" instead of all "all my time is". it made me think of running off to the woods to be alone with someone.

General Commentuntil now, i thought Doughty was saying "Volvo Volvo soundtrack to mary."
    how wrong i was...
i should've known they would never have such stupid lyrics.

General Commenti read somewhere that this song is about making mixtapes to fuck to, hence, 'soundtrack to mary' ('fingers drifting...')

General Commentgood to finally see the lyrics to a song i've been listening to for ten years.
    just another love song.
but one that actually talks about the people in love.
