I know a guy who lives just for the weekends.
He says he's tired a lot.
He says there should be five days of weekend
instead of five days of work.
And I remind him we get old and retire.
Too old to do anything but golf.
When you're young you're in school or in the workforce.
Let's make old people work. That's a joke.
We got a job to do and this is it.
I know a girl who works in an office.
She says she has no time for herself.
She says other than that everything is fine, everything is fine.
I remind her everything's not quite fine.
Maybe it's OK or even worse.
Work should not control our every minute.
Eat to work. Sleep to work. Live to work. Work.
We have the best job ever. Yeah we really got lucky.
We're nobody's robot. We're nobody's monkey.

General CommentI think this song is commenting on how people are thrust into work and school so early in life, and don't have the chance to experience life while they're young enough to really enjoy it.

General Commentinteresting title for the song. very fitting though. i really like this song and i think it does say a lot about the problems with today's work driven society. nobody ever gets a chance to really relax and create a life for themselves. its funny because i can really hear people saying those quotes ("other than that everything else if fine") in everyday life.

unfortunately, the song offers no solution to these problems, but it still rocks!

General CommentTo me, it's not a commentary on the stress that comes along with work/school, so much... It's more of a postcard, sent out to the fans, saying "I wish you were," so we would never have to be anyone's robot, and nobody's monkey.

But, we can't be there, so, at least I'm glad that they don't take theirselves too seriously, and relish every opportunity they get, because, they really do have the most amazing job in the world.

General CommentThis is the first Piebald song I ever heard and I love the 7/8ths time. The song meaning seems pretty straightforward: He describes two types of people, a robot (the girl that only works) and a monkey (the guy that just wants to sit around and do nothing), and then comments that his job (writing music and getting paid for it) is the best job ever. They don't have to just work they hate all the time but they still have some sort of responsibility.

General CommentI think this song is about how some people only live to sit around and hate responsibility (Everyone knows these people: People who want to be high all day every day and don't want anything to do with work or any form of responsibility) and how some people only live to work (Workaholics) and that there's a fine balance between the two.

I do agree that they had the best job ever.
    RIP Piebald.
