The room was filled with talk
For anyone listening
I found a spot by the door
With no one around

Let my mind go
Out of tune
Out of tune

I kept a smile on my face
For anyone looking
Tried to turn away questions
Before he asked

Let my mind go
Out of tune
Out of tune

I was engrossed in the film
Without really watching
Said, "Who's the guy with the gun?"
As if I was involved

Let my mind go
Out of tune
Out of tune

This song is about detaching yourself from reality and allowing your stream of conciousness to flow. The random noises and instrumentals are fragmented and odd, just like lucid thought.

Right now for me this song's about being out of place. It sounds like a party or get-together you don't really want to be at. You feel uncomfortable, anxious, as if you don't know anyone there (yet you do), but you don't want anyone there to know. You're just sort of hovering around, pretending to enjoy it so no one thinks anything bad about you.
