Zero

If ever life could answer me
The questions that I ask
I'd have be the one to see
The fuse is burning fast
The way to peace is through the pain
And learning that there of
The secret to this life it seems
Is just a questioned love
I'm just a shadow of the gift
Once blessed to walk the earth
Somewhere along the trail we left
We lost our sense of worth
Too far to go to just turn back
Too close to say enough
Too late to say its over now
Too soon to just give up

Life is too short to waste away
In lessons never learned
Life isnt living if your end
Is all for which you yearn
Death is an answer fools do seek
When nothing else prevails
Death is the cry of those who wish
To cheat wind of its sails

Don't worry someones guiding us
To where we cannot see
Someone has all the answers here
Just hope that it's not me
Cause if it is then we're all screwed
Cause I cant add it up
When 2 and 2 keep making war
Then zero comes back up

And more they die before thier time
Sometimes from inside out
Sometimes these wars they are of one
A self destructing bout
There are no winners once the flags
Are raised to just half maste
Who claims a win when someone lost
To demons of thier past

But if I'm the one who knows it all
Then tell me why I cry
Each time someone cant even speak
And just wants to know why
What can I say when sorrow burns
My smile to a frown
Who can I tell I did not know
But wished I did know how

To answer all that they could not
Like why the will they lack
To give the sons and daughters thought
There is no coming back
To show the ones who make these wars
They're ethics really suck
Your countries border need not move
It's big enough you fuck

Life is too short to waste away
In lessons never learned
Life isnt living if your end
Is all for which you yearn
Death is an answer fools do seek
When nothing else prevails
Death is the cry of those who wish
To cheat wind of its sails

Blank Space
Taylor Swift
This song is Swift's response to the negative reputation the media has given her. "I can make the bad guys good for a weekend" - the bad guys are the paparazzi to Swift, but are good to the "player" since association with Swift immediately gives publicity. Any publicity is good publicity and Swift knows this. "You can tell me when it's over" - the tabloids rumor relationships are over before the couple announces it officially. With this song Swift is portraying the way she is portrayed by the media. It is a sarcastic jab at how she views herself and how her "ex-lovers" only wanted to be with her to increase their fame. I applaud the brilliance in writing about how you always write about relationships. It is expected so Swift is giving the media what they want and profiting off the attention.

Alma Matters
Morrissey
The man has pseudo-friends who constantly criticize his actions. They moralize him, "teach" him and advise him to make a significant change in his life, because the way he is and what he does is not what they say it should be. They may find his life lame or immoral. They hold themselves up as role models. The man replies that he will make his own choices and decisions and he does not agree to unconditionally make himself under the influence of questionable quality advice. He justifies this by saying that there is always someone for whom he will be important, no matter what he does and no matter what he is. Although it is not said directly, I read it as meaning that he will always be important to himself in every way and he will always have his own support. "Everyone is different and maybe that's a good thing, but you exceeded that mark 1000 times" - I remember very well how sad the words I once heard (from my peers and it was in negative context) at school made me feel.
