Hey, hey
Don't come around here no more
Don't come around here no more
Whatever you're looking for
Hey, don't come around here no more

I've given up, stop
I've given up, stop
I've given up, stop, on waiting any longer
I've given up, on this love getting stronger

Don't come around here no more
Don't come around here no more
Don't come around here no more
Don't come around here no more

I don't feel you anymore
You darken my door
Whatever you're looking for
Hey, don't come around here no more

I've given up, stop
I've given up, stop
I've given up, (stop) you tangle my emotions
I've given up, honey please admit it's over

Hey, don't come around here no more
Don't come around here no more
Don't come around here no more
Don't come around here no more
Stop walking down my street
Don't come around here no more
Who you expect to meet?
Don't come around here no more
And whatever you're looking for
Hey don't come around here no more
Hey
Honey please (honey please) don't come around here no more
Whatever you're looking for
Don't come around here no more

I remember seeing the music video for this song when I was groing up. Tom Petty was dressed as the Mad Hatter and they had a whole Alice and wonderland theame going with these huge cardboard cutout backgrounds. This vidoe actullay won an award for best special effects. Tom Petty's speech said. "This video had no special effects, thank you very much." and he walked off the stage.

This is a great song and video. i think the lyrics have a soothing effect on you, it kind of settles broken emotions "i dont feel you anymore" anyone who's ever been dumped can really sympathize with this song.

I believe that this song is about someone shunning someone from their life. To me it sounds like a relationship gone bad. There's just something about the constant replaying of "I've given up.. Stop!" throughout the song that makes me think the singer is really tormented with feelings that wont die but he's trying very hard to push this individual out of his life. And him saying "Whatever you're looking for" tells me that maybe the person doesn't even love him and is just using him. Or at least that's how he feels, because he obviously doesn't believe that it's love. He's tried and waited but he knows it's over and he wants to make that clear as much as it may hurt. It's a great song. Limited in lyrics but the emotions in the way those lyrics are said and the drive in them just makes it the perfect breakup song.

All the censors on the religious right plus Tipper Gore and the feminazis were really fired up about the video, which is one of the reasons it is so great!

The video is great. ...But the song is way better. It's interesting that so many of Tom's songs are supposedly about drugs, yet someone was kicked out of his band because of his use of drugs...
