Just one year of love
Is better than a lifetime alone
One sentimental moment in your arms
Is like a shooting star right through my heart
It's always a rainy day without you
I'm a prisoner of love inside you
I'm falling apart all around you, yeah
My heart cries out to your heart
I'm lonely but you can save me
My hand reaches for to your hand
I'm cold but you light the fire in me
My lips search for your lips
I'm hungry for your touch
There's so much left unspoken
And all I can do is surrender
To the moment just surrender

And no one ever told me that love would hurt so much
Ooh yes it hurts
And pain is so close to pleasure
And all I can do is surrender to your love
Just surrender to your love
Just one year of love
Is better than a lifetime alone
One sentimental moment in your arms
Is like a shooting star right through my heart
It's always a rainy day without you
I'm a prisoner of love inside you
I'm falling apart all around you
And all I can do is surrender

Years ago John Deacon was interviewed by members of Queen Fan Club and one of the questions was about the meaning of this song (remember he wrote it for the film Highlander). He answered there was no relation with anything in real life, it was just about the film scene (I think when McLaud is in the 20th Century and begins to fall in love again)

The song's a little sappy, but it's so COOL! Ya gotta love it. Too bad it's not on the 3-disc Greatest Hits compilation that I bought.

"My heart cries out to your heart"... isn't that wonderfull? Amazing vocals at this point: "And all I can do is surrender (2nd voice-> "just surrender") to your love"... As far as I can remember, this might be the ONLY song by Queen, having saxophone in it!!! If you know any other, by Queen, please, tell us...

I think it's not just sappy and lovey-dovey: 'I'm a prisoner of love inside you' sounds pretty sexual...

I know the lyrics are kind of sappy, but still, I fucking love this song. Definitely one of my top favorite Queen ballads, along with Las Palabras de Amor and Teo Torriatte. And I *love* the sax solo.

Gotta love Queen's ballads - they rip through your heart like nothing.
