Oh No! Our Friendship Is Sinking

do you remember...

when we were kids we lived like pirate ships

we never saw an ends to the means that we spouted off so blatantly.

now eight years later our friendship sank. how could we?

it's hard to fix a capsized ship and launch it again at sea.

i forgot to put my sense of humor in the lifeboat that kept me alive.

i'm glad you remembered yours and have kept it with you since.

it's really a shame that we paddled our boats in different ways.

how could we? things will never be the same.

how could we? we grew up in different ways.

how could we?

now what do we have? nothing. but blank space, dead air, and dry heaves.

and i said "how could we let this go for so long?

and how did everything turn sour as soon as i said sweet?"
