I Know Lyrics

I know what you're doing, yeah
I know why you dial my number
I know what you're doing, yeah
I know why you care

I know what you're doing, yeah
I know why you say you love me
I know what you're doing, yeah
and I don't think it's fair

I know why you dial my number
I know why you say you're mine
I know what you're doing
and it's not gonna work this time

I know what you're doing, yeah
I can never sing in that key
I know what you're doing, yeah
and you're the one to blame

I know what you're doing, yeah
I know why you can't forgive me
I know why you're singing "lost love"
the lyrics haven't changed

I can recognize the symptoms
you should know I've changed my mind
I know what you're doing
and it's not gonna work this time

hey, I said it's not gonna work this time
not going to work this time...

I know what you're doing, baby
I know why you call my name
I know why you say you love me
but I can't say the same...

To me, this is obvious. It's like, about a person who wants you back and keeps bugging you because they made a mistake, and you know it. You know the truth of their selfish motives. I love this song.

i couldn't have put it better myself, inoticethings. that's exactly what this song means to me as well. i love how freely she sings in this, because you can feel how "over it" she is. she's moved past his immaturity and now that he has come back into her life to beg forgiveness and claim he's changed, she can look at his actions now as being ridiculous and not worth her time.

Her singing is so effortless and joyful. This song may be 10 years old, and almost dated, but it still sounds just as amazing as it did. The soul is still in it, and I love her careless vocals.

She's over it, and she doesn't care who knows.

Love that song! It was popular in 1995, I was a hs senior. There was this controlling jerk loser I had just dumped and took forever to get rid of... This song was a soundtrack to that time period.

Add stubborn to that and we probably know the same guy ;) And don't we all fall for those who are the most difficult...

Not Valid

I mean that controlling part, not the rest:)
