Love...
was never enough...
Throughout time,
There is some given up.
Will,
kept me standing alone...
If only I could have one dance,
I would move on my own...
In tattered daydreams,
that slip through the night...
I'm a prince, king, warrior...
and I'm doing things right...
But every dayream,
leaves me awake lonely nights,
If I was a bird, just spread my wings...
and take off and fly.

Yea, yea yea yea

I had this swirlin ache from
Sprays of honeysuckle
That when they are gathered break
Will do on the knuckle
I had small sweets, but those seemed small when I was young
The pedal of the rose was stung.
Yea, nyah nyah nyah nyah

So in this dream I walk
With my head held high
Cause here I'll live forever
And never die
I see my soul stright ahead
With his eyes locked on mine
If I should wake, right now..
I'd rather be blind
And in these dreams with love
Together we'd stand
I'm slippin fallin to earthward,
and I can't reach her hand

Yea, yea, yea, yea

I had this swirlin ache from
Sprays of honeysuckle
That when they are gathered break
Will do on the knuckle
I had small sweets, but those seemed small when I was young
The pedal of the rose was stung.
Yea, nyah nyah nyah nyah

My eyes opened wide
And I lost myself
I'm layin here in my bed,
there's no body else
Surrounded by questions, hate, and blood soaked war
I clasp my hands together... and pray,
Ask what it's all for
It's easy for me to slip away
And live on the air
If we'd all just let love live...
We could all meet there
But time has it's way of saying,
It's time to move on
So off to my kingdom I go
Where I feel at home

Yea, yea, yea, yea

I had this swirlin ache from
Sprays of honeysuckle
That when they are gathered break
Will do on the knuckle
I had small sweets, but those seemed small when I was young
The pedal of the rose was stung.
Yea, nyah nyah nyah nyah

I couldn't believe no one had added the lyrics to this song... I really do think it is one of OAR's best songs out there.

Here's what I think it's about, a person in the military or jail or someplace harsh just dreaming about a woman he loves, or even more simply, a utopia free from the violence and pain that surrounds his life... I love this song, it is so beautiful and I can really relate to it at times whenever my life gets kinda down.

I just love the message of this song, just stop the violence and respect eachother as human beings... Oh well, anyone else have any thoughts?

This is a really great song. I have a feeling that it's not as popular because it's not on any of their official albums. Oh well, it's still great live, and hopefully it will be put on their new album that will come out around June 2003.

The lyrics posted here are pretty accurate for the most part, with the exception of the chorus. The true chorus of the song should be: I had the swirl and ache From sprays of honeysuckle That when they're gathered brake Will dew on the knuckle.

And also, its "petal of the rose" not "pedal"

And by the way. This song wasn't released and will never be released. The title of the song and some of the lyrics are exact quotes from Robert Frost's poem "To Earthward." Check out a copy of the original poem that inspired Marc to right a song about at robertfrost.org/poem2.html

this song was released on the album risen, however it was taken off soon after since it was so similar to Robert Frost's poem....it only appears on rare early copies of risen

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
