Someday, when my life has passed me by
I'll lay around and wonder why you were always there for me
One way, in the eyes of a passer by
I'll look around for another try and fade away

Just close your eyes and I'll take you there
This place is warm and without a care
We'll take a swim in the deep blue sea
I go to leave and you reach for me

Some say better things will come our way
No matter what they try to say, you were always there for me
Some way, when the sun begins to shine
I hear a song from another time and fade away
And fade away

Just close your eyes and I'll take you there
This place is warm without a care
We'll take a swim in the deep blue sea
I go to leave and you reach for me

Oh, come on
Someone said you tried too long (someday will pass me by)
Someone said we got it all wrong (someday, I wonder why)
Someone said we tried too long (someday will pass me by)
Is there a place where I belong?

So far, so long, so far away
So far, so wrong, so far away, away, away

Someday, when my life has passed me by
I'll lay around and wonder why you were always there for me
One way, in the eyes of a passerby (in the eyes of a passerby)
I'll look around for another try and fade away
And fade away
And fade away
And fade away
And fade away
And fade away
And fade away
And fade away
And fade away

Here's what band members said about the song in an interview with "Melody Maker" magazine, Oct. 16, 1999: Singer Mark McGrath: "'Someday' (their new single and 'Every Morning! part-two, basically) is about reflecting back on your life and appreciating the one you chose to be with and hoping you made all the right decisions." Drummer Stan Frazier, who wrote the song: "It's like 'Every Morning'... I have a girlfriend and on the road I'm tempted to go with other women. And dogs. And men. And she has remained faithful. She was always so perfect and I was this f* * *ing guilty asshole and it's about that I think we've all grown a bit as people."

I haven't logged onto Songmeanings for a long time now, and was tempted to after reading all the comments about "weed." People who smoke weed tend to think EVERY SINGLE SONG they listen to is about smoking weed, only because they twist the words and meanings to relate to smoking weed. I'm sorry to say, but I know the band had absolutely zero intention of making this song be related to weed, at all. Now, you could say that the song REMINDS you of weed or when you hear it, it makes you think of smoking, but don't say and try to tell people it is about weed, because its not... And more along the real meaning, yes it can be about friendship but I see it being a little more romantic when he says "Just close your eyes and I'll take you there" I can't see him singing that to or about 'just a friend'

I'm not saying it is about weed, but they did an acoustic set, as he started this song he said "smoke em if you got em"

    Song Meaning
The song is about someone always being there for this guy (the singer), but the guy didn't care about their suppourt and took advantage of them. For example, the first line is "someday, when my life has passed me by, I'll lay around and womder why you were always there for me". This means that he is wondering why his friend was always there for him, even though all the singer did is take advantage of his friends work. Next, he says "One way, in the eyes of a passerby, I'll look around for another try, and fade away". This means that he realises how mean he was being to the person that was always there for him, and he wants to make it up, but by the time he tries, it is to late. When he says "Lets take a dip in the deap blue sea, I had to go, but you reached for me", that meant that he tried to get his friends attention back, because of all the good things his friend had done, but he was clearly to late, because his friend had other things to do, or proboably passed away.

To me, this song is about friendship. It's about how this one person is always there for the other, despite everyone else's dislike. It could, in some terms, be like a Romeo-Juliet ish love song but, it's more frienshippy. It's a very nice song on that too. It's like everyone thinks that they shouldn't even know each other, but they don't care, and they're always there for one another. And pehaps, someday, they can go off into another place, where their friendship will be accepted.

Somthing clever I think your nickname should be Somthing stupid insead... why don't you stop critizicing what the songs mean to other people... and you just keep saying the interpretations are wrong but I don't see you posting any, so... does that mean you don't have idea what it is about? Anyway... Yeah this song is about friendship, no doubt about that... is like always sticking up for other person, always keep being true to one another. And the song explains just what true friendship is... many people will try to tear them apart, to persuade them to fail one another, but "It doesn't matter what they tried to say/you were always there for me". I kinda get the sensation that is a good-bye song, that he has to leave, so is like saying "This is not good-bye yet, you will meet me one day and everything will be much brighter". "some way, when the sun begins to shine I heard a song from another time and fade away" that line just hits me! I've been there... missing a friend is one of the hardest things and it takes time to get used to it... so is basically saying that he is alright now, but then he heards this song that remind him of some many things that he fades away.

Somewhere Only We Know
Keane
Per the FAQ on Keane's website, Keane's drummer Richard Hughes, stated the following: "We've been asked whether "Somewhere Only We Know" is about a specific place, and Tim has been saying that, for him, or us as individuals, it might be about a geographical space, or a feeling; it can mean something individual to each person, and they can interpret it to a memory of theirs... It's perhaps more of a theme rather than a specific message... Feelings that may be universal, without necessarily being totally specific to us, or a place, or a time..." With the nostalgic sentiment and the overall tone of the song, I think Keane is attempting to express a Portuguese term known as 'saudade', which does not have a direct English translation but roughly means "that which we remember because it is gone."

Of Mice & Men
This track is about is about questioning why the sky would choose to be blue if it had the choice to be anything else, “blue also meaning sad,” states frontman Aaron Pauley. “It's about comforting a loved one in a time of loss by telling them you feel blue, too.”

Blank Space
Taylor Swift
This song is Swift's response to the negative reputation the media has given her. "I can make the bad guys good for a weekend" - the bad guys are the paparazzi to Swift, but are good to the "player" since association with Swift immediately gives publicity. Any publicity is good publicity and Swift knows this. "You can tell me when it's over" - the tabloids rumor relationships are over before the couple announces it officially. With this song Swift is portraying the way she is portrayed by the media. It is a sarcastic jab at how she views herself and how her "ex-lovers" only wanted to be with her to increase their fame. I applaud the brilliance in writing about how you always write about relationships. It is expected so Swift is giving the media what they want and profiting off the attention.
