Personal Space Invader Lyrics

corrections - instead of "say she ate", it should be "satiate" (meaning never satisfied), so the lyric reads "You want more, impossible to satiate". Also, "gates of hell" should be "gate to hell".

I found this song by accident, it was a download on a Deadsy site, and Elijah is awesome on this song, every song he touches is great!

I think this song is about the man (authority) always being in the way, never leaving you alone, invading your space. Whether your parents, junior high principal, the cops, or the president, the man is trying to invade your space. The background voice that says "remember how we taught you well" and stuff like that symbolizes the man. When he says "remember how we taught you well" I think he is refering to teachers and principals, who are usually a kids first authority figure after parents, and usually this authority figure is looked back on more negatively than other figures. When he says "your playground is the gate to Hell" I think he is refering to drugs or masturbation. Some people find fun in those things, and the man usually tries to supress those things. Maybe I'm reading too far into things, I don't know. When I first heard the song, I was pretty young and thought that it was about a stalker, invading Sugar Ray's personal space. I don't think that's it though.
