I'm going to try and keep this simple. There's a certain drive in a person to maintain their survival. This is having one last cry before the end, going down with a fight. Considering how Maynard writes, lyrics are left pretty vague so you can interpret them as you will, to get you thinking. As an example: Parabola means something WAY different to me now than it did when I first heard it. See also how this album stagnated for so long, I can imagine this was written to get the band off their asses; maintain relevance, stay alive; even though it's likely the end anyways. Sound the dread alarm, through the primal body; Sound a reveille to be or not to be. Rise, stay the grand finale; stay the reading of our swan song and epilogue. Favorite moment of the album to me. Take care guys. |
