I believe the video and lyrics are about a Gigolo and Conman with women: "Diamond life, lover boy - He move in space with minimum waste and maximum joy"... He lives the expensive life, and gets what he needs without spending much. He lives beyond his means... in the video you can see him dealing with two guys at a table or selling a handgun on the street and something is going on with the waitress and the singer (Sade). "No place for beginners or sensitive hearts - When sentiment is left to chance - No place to be ending but somewhere to start"... "Coast to coast, LA to Chicago, western male - Across the north and south, to Key Largo, love for sale"... This is the Gigolo (love for sale); accross the country he has rich women lovers who are just for the pleasure but with risk of falling in love (left to chance).
