Sia – Unstoppable Lyrics 5 years ago
I can relate to this song. Someone raped me and it destroyed my world. I felt bipolar (or like jekyl/hide), because to the outside world I held my shit together. But when I was alone, I'd fall apart. For the longest time I couldn't even talk about it. In the end, I did become stronger. At first I was more like I was emotionally unhinged, but later on it's almost like I was drunk with power. I had regained my "power" but I still was hurting. Finally got the help I needed, and I confronted the asshat who hurt me.

Ingrid Michaelson – Girls Chase Boys Lyrics 5 years ago
A note from Ingrid on the video:
Girls Chase Boys started out as a break up song but took on a deeper meaning as I continued writing. More than just being about my experience, its focus shifted to include the idea that, no matter who or how we love, we are all the same.

The video takes that idea one step further, and attempts to turn stereotypical gender roles on their head. Girls don't exclusively chase boys. We all know this! We all chase each other and in the end we are all chasing after the same thing: love.

Céline Dion – Ashes Lyrics 5 years ago
Got me why this hasn't been commented on yet. It's a beautiful song, and IMO pretty straightforward.

When I listen to this song, I think about the grief that Celine must have gone through after losing her husband and brother within days of each other.

I love the strength in her voice even though she's clearly hurting. This isn't a "woe is me", self pity song. It's a song of mourning and seeking resiliency. Truly beautiful.

Sia – Elastic Heart Lyrics 6 years ago
prettyboredvids explains it really well on youtube, here's what she...he? said:

OMG I THINK I GOT IT. I'm thinking Maddie and Shia both represent two halves of Sia. Maddie represents innocence, purity, unawareness of the cruelty of the world. Shia represents adulthood, maturity, complete awareness of the cruelty of the world. The cage represents Sia's soul. Shia screaming near the middle of the video and him crying at the end while Maddie tries to pull him through the bars represents that, no matter what, there is no going back to the freedom and innocence of being a child. Shia not being able to leave the cage represents Sia not being able to forget the responsibility and knowledge she's acquired from becoming an adult. We all grow up to learn about beautiful things and horrible things, and it may be very stressful to take in at times. And although we wish we can go back to a time when things were simple, it'll never happen. Which is both frustrating and saddening. This isn't just about Sia, it's about all of us.

Sia – The Greatest Lyrics 7 years ago
It sounds like she's exhausted and weathered by the setbacks in life. She's driven though, and will not give up. She aspires to be the greatest, even through the hardship.

Personally, I love this song. I can relate to it all on levels.

Lord Huron – The Night We Met Lyrics 7 years ago
For whatever reasons, they are haunted by their relationship. Since they don't want to be haunted, they wish they never got into the relationship in the first place. If they could go back in time he would go out of his way to not invest in the relationship. He'd rather have chosen another path.
