CHVRCHES – Bury It Lyrics 8 years ago
-The speaker knows the truth about the other person. Even though this other person does exceptionally well in covering it up from other people, the speaker stills sees who that person really is.

-The speaker has had about enough of the other person's fakeness, so she is threatening to reveal it. ("How about I prove I'm right and raise it overhead?"

-At one point in time, the speaker and the other person agreed to see something (I don't know what. Perhaps a conclusion on a conflict they once had?) similarly. From that point, they buried the other evidence suggesting something else. However, the other person actually believed differently about the situation. He buried something else, rather than the one they both agreed to bury.

-The speaker is preparing ("reaching for my resistance") to do something that the other person is not expecting ("I never promised you anything I couldn't do"), The speaker is going to uncover and present the evidence to other people.

If it helps, think of it this way: the speaker is going to break up with the other person in their relationship. The other person has done something wrong. They tried to fix whatever problems arose from it, and agreed on so and so, and tried to move on. However, the other person never really changed and the speaker notices this. The other person perhaps uses his/her fakeness to build up on something beneficial only for him/herself, but not for the speaker. The speaker has had enough, and is going to break silence and end the relationship.

CHVRCHES – Playing Dead Lyrics 8 years ago
This song is basically Lauren telling all the trolls to back off, haha. Haters gonna hate! Go Lauren! But anyways, here are some of my thoughts about the song's meaning:

-The term "playing dead" is an act some animals do when there is some sort of threat. (Example, playing dead when coming across a predator, such as a bear in the woods)

-The speaker is tired of what the aggressor has done. She is opening up and firing back. Fighting back, taking a stand against the enemy. ("No more excuses and no more playing dead")

-The first 2 lines of the chorus presents the speaker suggesting to the aggressor a potential to "play dead" again. It seems like she will play dead again.

-However when she says that she's going to TRY to pretend not to hear the aggressor, she is actually saying that she DOES hear the aggressor and she's not gonna comply/agree/give in to whatever crap he/she is saying. Sort of kinda mocking/taunting the aggressor. ("You can tell me to move and I won't go/ You can tell me to try and I won't go").

-The second verse is filled with great burns ("I am chasing the skyline much more than you ever will"), but it is obvious that the speaker is still trying to be fair and more morally well-sensed in the fight; they can end the argument and pretend that nothing ever happened ("We could hold up our hands, say we don't want it, we don't need it")

CHVRCHES – Down Side of Me Lyrics 8 years ago
-I think that the speaker in this song is someone swallowing their pride or being humble, or worst case scenario, remaining silent ("eat my words").

-She is trying to hide her pain from the other person ("Keep you away from the down side of me")

-Something (perhaps an argument) has caused distress in her relationship. She knows she's right or innocent (if in case of seeing her being as a victim of abuse), but she still loves the other person

-She is trying to view the other person as good. She still believes there good things can also still happen in their relationship, no matter whatever unfortunate event has happened. ("I will show I believe/ And hold you up and know that you're all I see in the light")

-However, she knows deep inside that this other person is someone different from an earlier point in their relationship ("You're not the same")

-She also seems to be asking the other person to open up to her; she wants to support this person still ("You can wrap up your hopes and release them to me")

-It seems that she is very willing to swallow her pride in hopes that he'll still truly love her back. ("You can keep me a trick of the light that you see")
---- This might be a very, very far off reference, but "Trick of the Light" is a song by The Who. At the surface, the song is about a guy and a prostitute. But if you dig in deeper, the song presents the guy's realization that, like him, the prostitute is seeking love/a deep connection with a significant someone.

Overall, I think the song is about the STRUGGLE to hide her down side away from the other person. The line "Not the same, not the same, you're not the same, not the same" sounds like a chant or something uttered in disappointment, quietly to oneself. This contrasts whenever "I believe, I believe" is sung. The music seems brighter and trying to uplift the mood. However, the chanting is embedded throughout, suggesting that she is constantly trying to make a decision. A bit sad, really ):
