Animal Collective – Guys Eyes Lyrics | 5 years ago |
Pretty much about masturbation at the end |
Cursive – Into the Fold Lyrics | 7 years ago |
This song sounds so sweet, like any other love song, until you listen to it for a while and you listen to what's being said, which I think is kind of the point; It mirrors the whole theme of seduction, presenting a sweet and endearing face all the while with ulterior motives beneath. Definitely one of Cursive's best songs. |
Carissa's Wierd – Drunk with the Only Saints I Know Lyrics | 8 years ago |
@[Frutiger:5556] Actually, the guy above me is probably right. |
Carissa's Wierd – Drunk with the Only Saints I Know Lyrics | 8 years ago |
@[Frutiger:5555] I think it's "half-way on and all the halos on" |

Modest Mouse – The Whale Song Lyrics | 9 years ago |
This is about Team Fortress 2 |
Brand New – At the Bottom Lyrics | 9 years ago |
Sounds like he converted to atheism. |
Brand New – Sink Lyrics | 9 years ago |
All I'll say is: assisted suicide |
Modest Mouse – Guilty Cocker Spaniels Lyrics | 9 years ago |
Sounds substance related to me, given Isaac's heavy abuse in the past and how he's trying to get past that now. |
Dimmu Borgir – Heavenly Perverse Lyrics | 9 years ago |
Guys, guys, get this. No, no, guys listen to me. ..This is about priests who molest children. |
Dimmu Borgir – Eradication Instincts Defined Lyrics | 9 years ago |
"Go ahead end it all, we deserve no better As a forever unblessed detonation The great plutonium chord fulminates Blinding the eyes of creation" [...] Cutting off all life support Sweeping away existence instantly Iced desolate ruins linger Leaving traces of our lovely humanity I'm pretty sure this is about the madness of the modern world, and wishing death in the form of a nuclear holocaust for mankind. I like it though, there aren't many songs about nuclear war, and of course the orchestral work is great fits pretty well. It's nice to hear them change topics once in a while. |
Dimmu Borgir – The Promised Future Aeons Lyrics | 9 years ago |
This is actually my favorite Dimmu Borgir song, the keyboard makes it much better than it would have been otherwise, it gives it kind of a mysterious, black magic-y feel. I also love these lyrics, totally black magic: "In the cradle of the next generation - A spiraling ruin.. Lost in the gathering dust!" "Quivering like little figures lost and broke, in flames, never to forget again the name, charred in horrid flesh." (Always heard it that way) "Through the fabric of the promised future aeons.. I offer the suffering of my unwanted father!" and of course the last one, "And the stars did wander, seperated in a forbidden universe.." |
The Twilight Sad – The Wrong Car Lyrics | 10 years ago |
I kind of think this song is about kidnapping/rape |
The Twilight Sad – The Wrong Car Lyrics | 10 years ago |
m I the only one who thinks this song is about kidnapping and/or rape? Staying out at night kind of fits. "And little frail from the laughs and the walk, 'cause he was right behind you." Just before she was taken "She was rising, but the run; it wasn't far" She tried to get away, but she didn't make it very far. "Is your pretty little dress all covered in dirt?" Speaks for itself. Pretty dark when you think of it that way. Just my take on it. |
Mates of State – Parachutes (Funeral Song) Lyrics | 10 years ago |
This song always feels like it's about finally giving up and metaphorically plummeting toward the earth, or the same thing except actually falling to your death. "Deciding just to trade it all in." |
S – Sadstyle Lyrics | 10 years ago |
Not certain, but I believe the at about 1:10 are saying "If you knew exactly how I felt, you wouldn't like me anyway," and then at 1:52 it goes, "Maybe someday, you could like me more. Maybe some day you could like me more. Maybe someday, maybe everyone out there could like me more. Maybe someday you could like me more.. ect." I could be wrong, but once I started hearing those lyrics the song became absolutely heart-wrenching to me. I also feel like the line "of course, I'll always do what they say," is more like "I always make the mistakes that other people say I do," and "Of course, you'll always do what they do," is about knowing you're going to get hurt in the end, just like the people who hurt you in the past. Pretty sure that's not how those lines are suppose to come off, but those are the feelings it gives me. |
Say Hi – Let's Talk About Spaceships Lyrics | 10 years ago |
This is how I felt during the build up to a break-up. I wanted to avoid talking about our relationship because I wanted to hold onto it for as long as I could. |
Interpol – Pace Is the Trick Lyrics | 10 years ago |
Before I read the lyrics I was pretty sure this was about receiving sexual pleasure, particularly that of the hand and mouth. |
Lodger – Friends Lyrics | 10 years ago |
"Shiny machines landing mars" |
Lodger – Friends Lyrics | 10 years ago |
I think it's "landing mars" not "lending" |
Lodger – Hairdo Lyrics | 10 years ago |
Yeah, I'm sure it's "Under their robes." On another note, I'm trying to figure out what the implication is when he says "pass me that knife," could it be that it would be a "good" deed that ultimately leads to a far worse one, or that he'll prove you wrong by visiting (or rather not visiting) the afterlife? |
Lodger – Chemicals Lyrics | 10 years ago |
This song is my life. |
Lodger – Whatever the Weather Lyrics | 10 years ago |
Yes, the message at the end is in Japanese. Specifically she's talking about the weather. I don't know that much Japanese but a few lines are: "Tenki wa dou desu ka?" - How's the weather? "Yuki ga futeimasu." - It's snowing "Atsui desu." - It's hot "Atatakai desu" - It's warm |
Lou Reed – Perfect Day Lyrics | 10 years ago |
"I thought I was someone else.. Someone good." That's one of my favorite lines in any song. Actually makes me cry more often than not. |
