Lenka – You Will Be Mine Lyrics 10 years ago
Obsession. Possessive love. Stalking. Whatever you want to call it.

He's deluded himself into thinking she loves him, thinking that she's asking him to take her away. Clearly, the fact that she hides from him doesn't deter him.

Also, it seems strange that she would write specifically that the love letters are written in red, and the only possible explanation I can think of is that he's using his own blood to write them.

Andrew W.K. – I Get Wet Lyrics 10 years ago
From an NYRock interview with Andrew:

"[W]et means soaking wet afterwards, after a concert. It just happens. It's a theory, a tactile, real way for me to go throughout a gig, like an effort. To get that wet, sweaty, to exert that much, to push that much water out of my body, [it means] that I did a good job. It's all just about not holding back and not restraining oneself. I always say, Don't stand on the edge of the water if you can dive in."

So the singer doesn't want to be like the person he's singing to. He doesn't want to watch what other people do, he doesn't care what other people think about him. He also seems to be telling the person he's singing to that watching what other people do, caring about them that much, is ultimately what's holding them back, and if they stop doing that, they too can "get wet".

That's what I take from it.

Rufus Wainwright – La Complainte de la Butte Lyrics 10 years ago
Most of the lyrics from the original version (written by Jean Renoir) are unchanged, with the exception of the introduction, which is cut out completely from Wainwright's version, and the final verse. The original version goes:

Mais voilà qu'il flotte
La lune se trotte
La princesse aussi
Sous le ciel sans lune
Je pleure - à la brune
Mon rêve évanoui

Which I believe is translated (more lyrically/poetically than literally) as:

But now it floats
The moon leaves (lit. "clears off")
And so does the princess
Under the moonless sky
I cry
My dream faded to brown

A much sadder ending than this version, definitely.

New Found Glory – Make Your Move Lyrics 10 years ago
Maybe I'm just crazy, but I feel like this song is about infidelity. The line "You won't regret anything we do, it's up to you" just seems to me like the singing to a person who wants to sleep with him, even though they're in a relationship. Couple that with "I know you would do things you would never dare"...

I dunno. Seems like a song about someone cheating on their s/o.
