Benjamin Clementine – Quintessence Lyrics | 6 years ago |
I feel as though this song could possibly be a commentary on American politics. Why would an English performer care about American politics you ask? Well, most of the album is about Benjamin's experience in America. And he was on a Gorillaz Trump-diss track, so I think it fits. Anyhoo, I think "They say you must become an animal" means you have to choose to be a democrat or republican, donkey or elephant respectively. "The good animal" each party believe they are good, and the other is evil. "And so we go to war" It means both our country go to war with others, and the civil war between both political parties. |
Gorillaz – Saturnz Barz Lyrics | 6 years ago |
Poopcanz... LMAO |
Gorillaz – Stop The Dams Lyrics | 9 years ago |
Nope, it's tinfoil. Damon Albarn spoke on occasion about his former addiction to heroin. He would smoke it out of tinfoil. |
Gorillaz – The Parish of Space Dust Lyrics | 9 years ago |
Oh Texas, can you hear me? Speed upon the dawn To the pinks and blues of Houston To the sun Where home is a bus In the parish of space dust (where the mountains die) and today is golden |
Gorillaz – Latin Simone (Que Pasa Contigo) Lyrics | 9 years ago |
Great! But I think "Que Pasa Contigo?" is more like "What's the matter with you?" |
Radiohead – There There. (The Boney King of Nowhere.) Lyrics | 9 years ago |
To me, the song is about social isolation. (The Boney King of Nowhere) "In pitch dark I go walking in your landscape Broken branches Trip me as I speak" He's comparing lack of social skills and understanding as being in the dark, and walking into your landscape as trying to force yourself into the mold. But the "broken branches" always "trip you"/hold you back. "Just 'cause you feel it Doesn't mean it's there Just 'cause you feel it Doesn't mean it's there" This could imply unrequited love. Even though you may love someone more than anything, you can't force them to love you back. "There's always a siren Singing you to shipwreck (Don't reach out, don't reach out Don't reach out, don't reach out)" He's comparing the girl he is in love with to a siren, a mythical creature that would lure sailors to their doom. "Don't reach out" he's telling himself not to come out of his shell and show her who he is, he is too afraid of rejection to tell her how he feels. "Stay away from each rocks We'd be a walking disaster (Don't reach out, don't reach out Don't reach out, don't reach out)" Relationships fail, so why bother? "Just 'cause you feel it Doesn't mean it's there (Someone on your shoulder Someone on your shoulder) Just 'cause you feel it Doesn't mean it's there (Someone on your shoulder Someone on your shoulder)" He's just her shoulder to cry on. "There there" He's telling himself "there there, it's not so bad" despite the anguish he feels. "Why so green and lonely? Lonely, lonely? Heaven sent you to me To me, to me? We are accidents waiting Waiting to happen We are accidents waiting Waiting to happen" The last lines could imply hope that he will eventually overcome his fears and tell her how he feels. |

Gorillaz – El Mañana Lyrics | 11 years ago |
"El Manana" spanish for "The Morning" being a play on words meaning "The Mourning" |
Gorillaz – El Mañana Lyrics | 11 years ago |

Gorillaz – DARE Lyrics | 11 years ago |
You people are so retarded... why is it that you must go on every song ever and say it's about A) drugs or B) sex? |
Gorillaz – DARE Lyrics | 11 years ago |
and the "It's coming up It's coming up It's coming up" thing is from when the guy Shaun Ryder's(the giant head guy in the video) headphones were to low, so they turned them up and he said "it's coming up, it's coming up, it's coming up, it's there!" but with his heavy accent it sounded like "it's dare!' which is how the inspiration for the song came about. It's not about your pervy logic in the slightest. |
Gorillaz – DARE Lyrics | 11 years ago |
First off, it is in Noodle's room. It says it on the door at the beginning of the video. Noodle is a 15(at the time of the video) year old Japanese girl. Murdoc is a 40-something year old guy. He's the guy at the end in the winnebago. |
Gorillaz – DARE Lyrics | 11 years ago |
...you are freaking retarded. |
Gorillaz – All Alone Lyrics | 11 years ago |
It's "Leviticus... Deuteronomy!" not whatever that nonsense is at the beginning... |
Gorillaz – Pirate Jet Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Here's some proof that the lyric is "the purple, the people, the plastic eating people" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62AKnkgFf-4 |
Gorillaz – Dirty Harry Lyrics | 11 years ago |
It definitely IS "keep myself from harm" listen to the song "I Need A Gun" from Damon Albarn's album Democrazy. It is the demo to "Dirty Harry" you can clearly hear "keep myself from harm" because it's only Damon singing |
Gorillaz – Stop The Dams Lyrics | 11 years ago |
It's an anti-drug song. Period. "When you're smoking tinfoil in the morning, it's gonna be colder day." Junkies often use tinfoil to smoke crack and whatnot. Drugs are like Dams, plugging up our Rivers, or minds. We need to unplug the dams, as in, quit using drugs. |
Gorillaz – Intro Lyrics | 11 years ago |
The lyrics ARE indeed correct, though. The "Who put the chemicals in the foodchain?" line is a sample from an unreleased Gorillaz song "Snakes & Ladders" |

Gorillaz – Latin Simone (Que Pasa Contigo) Lyrics | 11 years ago |
To rid the confusion, there are two versions of this song. One appears on Gorillaz, and one on G-Sides. The Gorillaz version is sung by Ibraham Ferrer, which is in Spanish. The other version that appeared on D-Sides is sung by Damon/2D. It is in English, but the lyrics are completely different, in no way a translation. The lyrics posted here are the two different versions, and not translations of eachother. Go here to check out the G-Sides version of the song www.youtube.com/watch?v=93-IbSzXzlk |

This is so stupid and wrong. The lyrics are "The Purple, the People, the Plastic Eating People". That is the name of the the orchestra that plays on this song. Just read the damn booklet that comes with Plastic Beach. |
Gorillaz – Happy Landfill Lyrics | 11 years ago |
The song is actually called "We Are Happy Landfill" or at least that's what it says on my copy of D-Sides |
