To me , this song means the writer is trying to portray herself in this case as a perfect observant, which is not possible, I believe this is intentional in Ms Vega's case... a songwriter would understand everything that the song's "writer" obviously doesn't... an exercise in futility...Could be that she is saying in some ways you cannot understand what you see, because I am supposed to as an artist, but I am showing you I cannot understand the things that I "should" |

yes, if you choose Carmen, (Karma) and have to accept the devil as well, thats most definitely a fall from grace,at the end the narrator realizes he needs to get back to miss fanny, the road back to the king. Have you ever noticed how many elderly people go to church, read the bible, etc. |

you know, to me, at first it seems like just another sappy love song, but it is unique in the sense that it has so many emotional elements, either layered or not, or somewhere in between. It could be angry/sarcastic, "you just go ahead and tell everybody, this is your song" or "Damn, I really hope you don't mind that I put this down in words", or sadly unrequited, " I really honestly hope you don't mind, how much I want to say how I feel about you, even though you don't care", Or just an ordinary relationship which with everyone has problems, " You want me to remember if your eyes are green or they are blue, but the important thing to remember is that I love them and whats inside the most". of course I know the absurdity about paraphrasing in quotes, but I just hope I got my point across. Great song, great song to start a great career. |
