When I saw the Queen and Paul Rogers thing (you can see me among the thousands in the DVD... a bazillion points to the one who can guess which one I am), Brian introduced this as "This is a song about a man who travels in a silver spaceship".
And it is 100 years, as opposed to 500 or 1000, not just because Brian says so, but because of the line "Your mother's eyes in your eyes cry to me", meaning he meets his daughter instead of his wife, which isn't possible 200 years or more into the future. |

I ain't gonna bash you, that's your opinion, and your free to express it. Its just when there are huge lists of posts arguing whether a song is good or bad, and no discussion of song meaning that I get irritated.
It makes me think of prostitution too, but it seems the song has many meanings. |

I once was singing the song in my head, and then out loud I sang "I'm not the only one who's happy to go blind". Think about that line out of context for a second. There were a few laughs from my friends.
Seriously though, there are some lines in this song which just confuse me. What does the insect represent? And why does he doubt that God will listen? |

Does anyone have any idea about the "cry without weeping, talk without speaking, scream without raising your voice" bit? It's obviously a reflection of the contradiction "running to stand still", which is a bit more obvious, but surely these phrases have their own meanings too. |
