first of all attacking it's simplicity is fucking stupid. i agree with WhoIsBatman on this one, i am a huge nirvana fan, but their guitar was so simple as are the guitar parts to most punk bands. i dont see why you would even look up this songs lyrics and comment on it if you dont like it, but you're entitled to your opinions i suppose... but dont bitch about them being on mtv and all that-- if you want underground punk then go on those sites and quit looking up music you dont even like. i personally like the song alright, but it isnt anything amazing and the whole album was kind of disappointing, but not too bad. |

This is one of the best OLP songs. When I first heard it, I thought it was about somebody who was dying. My first reaction was that they were going crazy, thus the thief that lives inside of your head. A brain tumor didnt even occur to me. My favorite line is "I can be some courage at the side of your bed" It's saying how, even though they can't really do anything at all, they can still offer courage to get through it. I love this song... I love the chorus. I never really understood it. I never would have figured out what it was about on my own. To me it was just somebody getting punished through death, for what they've done wrong. I love the line "running away from the backs of opinions, borrowed and betrayed" |

Picture the scene, where whatever you thought, would, in the blink of an eye, manifest and become illustrated. for some reason thats my favorite part. i agree that incubus evolved. and im sick of the people that think music should be hated to be good. it doesnt work that way. and personally, yes i do like fungus and science better than the recent stuff but i like incubus because i think theyre good, not because everybody else does why cant that be good enough?

Incubus is awesome. These are great lyrics. But then again most of their songs have great lyrics. seeing you is like pulling teeth and hearing your voice is like chewing tin foil. those are the best lines in the song.

First of all, I dont think interpretations can do this song justice. It's a gorgeous song. Brandon may have written it about his hand going numb but it makes the song so much less cool. And as far as it being about getting high, I agree it kinda sounds like that, but it also makes it less cool if it is. This is one of those songs where your personal interpretation is just better |

This is definatlely one of the 2 best songs on make yourself, the other being pardon me of course. this song is closer to the old days than the rest, which is mainly why i like it, but i also love the lyrics. i think it has personal meaning to everybody whether they know it or not. i wish everybody would just say what's on their mind. it may hurt but it'll hurt less than the finding out that the person really felt that way but didnt trust you enough to say anything. i love brandon's voice and incubus is awesome |

First of all, Brandon is a genius. All of his songs are awesome. Make Yourself is somewhat of a transitional CD though. They just don't do the songs like they used to. The lyrics have improved but personally I would like to hear some of the beats on Fungus Amungus more often. Anyway, Harry Manback had it exactly right. I read the same article. I think its awesome how Brandon can make up lyrics on the spot like that. I also love the fact that he realized that his problems were nothing compared to this guys. Brandon is amazing. But don't get me wrong, the whole band is awesome. Incubus is the best. |

First of all, Kurt was murdered. Read the articles. The evidence is all there. There's no way he could have committed suicide. He was depressed and potentially suicidal but he was killed. The song is about not fitting in but fuck it cause he's happy anyway. But basically it's about how drugs offer an escape. Kurt didn't hate life. And he wasn't all that interested with fitting in, which was what made him awesome. He didn't buy into all the shit that the music industry offers. His "suicide" note was actually not a suicide note. It was explaining to fans why he was leaving the band. |

I agree with the comment before. I can't stand the middle. And I also hate the fact that now everyone is listening to the music now. JEW all about not just going for something because its popular and now they've become popular. Nobody even realizes that a lot of the songs are saying, do what you want, listen to what you like, etc. Anyway, as far as this song, I love the way it says that when you can't go back.
