Bright Eyes – Black Comedy Lyrics

a wonderful short and simple song written awhile back and performed on a radio show out of Dallas, kdge, on 12/01/02. later a studio verson was released on a split EP, bright eyes/neva dinova 04/10/04. i like the acoustic verson from the radio broadcast a lot more. |

Bright Eyes – Poison Oak Lyrics
|
i think it's about a friend that was gay or sexually confused in some way but also this person proved something to Oberst or showed him how he affected those around him and gave him justification to live. I get this from when he says
"And I never thought this life was possible.
You're the yellow bird that I've been waiting for"
Yellow Bird i'm pretty sure is a reference to a Simon Joyner song "Came a Yellow Bird" read the lyrics to that and it might make some more sense. |

Bright Eyes – Burn Rubber (Simon Joyner cover) Lyrics
| 21 years ago
|
This is a Simon Joyner cover. Joyner is from Omaha like the band Bright Eyes and Oberst i guess listens listens to him a lot. if you like bright eyes so much you should listen to Mr. Joyner, he's a talented man. This was played on the KCRW performance along with four new songs. |

wow. "wow" that's all i could say when they opened with this in dallas back in april.
conor keeps writing better and better songs. lyrically this along with the other new songs and those he played on KCRW acoustic show are all stroke of musical genius, or so i think. |

The Impossibles – (Never) Say Goodbye Lyrics

this isn't the last song they played actually, they opened with this song in their final show at emos in austin. priorities intact was their final song. in the commentary to the bands super cool DVD(which you need to buy at fueledbyramen.com) Rory says this is his favorite impossibles song, hey mine too. |

The Early November – Sunday Drive Lyrics
|
my favorite song too. After these guys played to a less than packed club in Austin, TX they came up to my friends and me, and thanked us for coming to the show. which was really cool of those guys, they personally talked to so many people after the show and thanked them for coming. we asked Ace why he didn't play this song and he said that he thought no one liked it! we told him that had no truth in it. we begged him to play it but he didn't have an acoustic guitar but said that if we found one he'd be happy to play it in the back of the club just for us. :( we couldn't find one. such nice/cool guys |

Weezer – Longtime Sunshine Lyrics
|
this is a very unique weezer song. when i listen to it i hear a rivers cuomo who wants to give it all up, all his success with weezer and music. i just keep thinking it's a song about retiring and growing old and how when you give everything up you start to appreciate things so much more. rivers wants a simple life with simple things
"sometimes i wanna build a house with a wood stove or a fireplace, and in the middle of the living room, and old piano sometimes it don't seem so bad to settle down with a girl for a while"
i suppose this song is somewhat of a reaction to the less than stellar success of pinkerton and rivers cynicism that came after he poured his heart and soul into pinkerton and he felt at the time no one really cared.
to me this is the most beautiful song written by rivers cuomo. I miss no longer having him write music that is first and foremost outwardly sincere |

Rehab – It Don't Matter Lyrics

the cd is very different. I enjoy it though. yes, none of the songs touch "it don't matter" but a few come close such as "sittin at a bar." Oh well at least you accept that "it don't matter" is one of the most outstanding songs from past years, it's cool. |

after hearing this song and others by bright light... it scares me how good they are. it really does. you can tell, there is something really special here.
something very unique

i'll have to agree with you on that. after hearing this song i was expecting the cd to be pretty good. it's actually quite lackluster. a few other good songs i think are 'sit and watch the sky' and the other i think is titled 'control' |

do you think maybe he could be talking about fans? this band was never real big before this song, and far behind, but it does kind of fit.

Keep on begging
Beg for more

i think it's more like someone who he is seeing or he is interested in is blowing him off and refusing to take their relationship a step futher. he is approaching her all the time 'falling like the rain' but she is refusing his advances 'you've got your umbrella in the way.' |

Lagwagon – May 16th Lyrics

i'd like to think that a most all good punk bands come up with great titles to songs. From just the title you can tell what a song is about, well you can make an inference at least.
i think it's pretty obivious that sic n twisted knows just nothing about this kind of music. |

i might be going to the fairwell show in austin. austin is an hour south of where i live (temple, texas). it just so happens that June 1st is my graduation, so i might go from my graduation ceremony straight to see them that'd be badass. we'll see if it works out |

Lagwagon – May 16th Lyrics

good question adrenalinegrl. i like the name though, May 16 is the birthday actually. This was my first lagwagon song, obviously the title caught my eye.
BUT, What does this song mean ?
I think it's about breaking out and becoming your own person. i guess this is to someone who's lived off of someone else or in his shadow. what does everyone else think? |

Lucky Boys Confusion – Fred Astaire Lyrics
| 22 years ago
|
ok i'm going to try and explain this song...
Ok first of all if you didn't know LBC, is fronted by a couple of Indians(born in the US but their parents are from India). Ok, Fred Astaire was this kick ass dancer back in the day he's like the greatest, or one of the greats. More of the tradional Indian parents get their kids involved in dance at a very young age. In the Indian culture, perfection is demaned almost all the time. The guy who wrote this song felt the pressures from his parents to become a great dancer, but he never accomplished it. I guess this totally let down his parents. Well i hope this helps. Reread the lyrics and it will make perfect sense.
"heel, toe, heel, toe, side to side AGAIN, gonna get it right..." |

hahahaha this song is so awesome, i've never heard it but the lyrics are just great. it's sending a message i guess about our youth and how so many kids have ADD these days, which i think they do. from what i've heard kids are more likely to get it when they aren't given enough attention when they are young. i'm not a doctor though, i'm just 17. |
